-- Crew chief Mike Nelson and the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Avenger team will take chassis PRS-511 to this weekend’s Goody’s Cool Orange 500 at Martinsville Speedway. This Car of Tomorrow has never been on a track.

-- The backup car for Martinsville is chassis PRS-509. This car was the back-up car for Bristol, but has not seen any action on a track.

Newman on Martinsville Speedway: “Our debut in the new COT cars didn’t go as well as we had hoped last week in Bristol. Our car was decent in practice, but we didn’t qualify great and we had to make a green-flag stop early on, which put us a lap down.”

“This team is hoping to have better luck this week in Martinsville. We’ve been great in qualifying at this short track and we’ve had a few good finishes there as well. Our best finish is a third and we’d like to improve on that this week.”
