Who do you think will be the top 3 finishers at Atlanta? MrsMopar has generously donated her bank bucks ($10,000 of it) if you guess the winner!
Get your picks in before qualifying on Friday to make the playing field fair! And as always, you can post who you want to finish dead last.
Wamp, I tried that fuel injector cleaner like you suggested - not the expensive stuff but I bought Lucas brand. That stuff is AMAZING!!! I love it! Just one bottle and I have more power! Is it possible to use too much of it too often?
Yes, it is possible to use too much too often. Too much injector cleaner too frequently may result in premature deterioration of injector O rings and related silicone and rubberized components.
It would be good to go with how I suggested. One full tank with injector cleaner; a second full tank with the cleaner; a third full tank with out the cleaner (this allows any residue that was disolved during the first two tanks-full to rinse out of the fuel system); then do another full tank with the cleaner. What this does, Smoke, is allow the disolving of years and miles & miles of gasoline laquer build-up to "wash" away. The cleaner should be used about every 10k miles after that (depending on your driving habits etc...I suspect that living in the Portland area, you have a lot of stop-and-go driving which causes a lot of idling, which in turn, allows more build up during engine operation.) The cleaner will help keep the 'build-ups' out of the fuel supply system (that is a good thing)...our gas here in Oregon is full of a lot of not-so-damn-good additives, mostly because of the tree-hugging whackos think that it is better to clean the environment (the additives really don't do what they think they should) in lieu of your engine aspiration requirements. It is tons worse in Californication (and our idiot governor want to creat rules like those in Californication!). Sorry for the rant.
Ya dun good...keep it up. Long about Jan or Feb, think about one can of HEET to help dissipate any condensate accumulations in the tank. Most of the information I have shared with you is best for older vehicles like you and I have...I would not recommend this regimen on vehicles less than two years, or 36K miles.
Well kids mrsmopar got a small personal financial blessing today and is in a generous mood So she would like to offer up a little extra inventive to get everyone to post predictions this week. Therefore, she will also offer up additional $5.000, from her bank here, for a correct 2nd place prediction and $2,000 for the winning 3rd pace. So come on people and get your predictions in. Donations of the winnings will be rewarded after Smoke does her good job of keeping track to the outcome. Thank you Smoke! So come on and take my money!!! Post your predictions, in case of a tie the first post will determine the winner.
So who do you think will go to Victory Lane at Atlanta? Feel free to play a long shot too!

OK, Wampinrock, I'll go get 2 more bottles of this awesome injector cleaner! I printed your advice! Lol, your rant. And yes, I do have a lot of stop and go's and city driving. Never heard of HEET but I'll look for it.

Thanks!!
Awesome post Wamp! Good advice!
Smoke, I have always found that anything Lucas makes works well. I had a leaking power steering unit and bought a bottle of their stop leak for it, and it worked. For $7.00, the power steering unit outlasted the car!!! I have used other stuff they make and it has always worked as it said it would.

Good to know about Lucas. But you forgot to post your picks! Lol!
