Thank you so much!
Dear mrsmopar12,
thank you so much! You’ve been more than helpful!
I learned a lot from your thread (by the way, your pics are awesome!).
Actually now I’m a little bit scared for all the things I have to care about.
Rent a RV and camp at the track infield is an amazing idea, but unfortunately I’m going all by myself, so I think the RV is too big for me.
This is more or less what I’ve planned so far:
1- Saturday noon I’d rent a car from NYC and start the trip to Glen
2- for the night I’d found a motel by the street
3- Sunday morning wake up early and go to the track, park near it and go inside to see the race, maybe one or two hours before the start (that is about at 1.00 pm, I think).
I know that this might sound strange or too fast, but rented cars are not so cheap (I found that it might cost me a couple of hundred dollars for 3 days).
But now I think I’m going to change some things: first of all I’ll find (and buy) an hotel before it’s too late.
Then, maybe I could start on Friday, so I can take it easy and see more things.
I’ll think about it.
Just last two questions:
Can you explain me exactly what the FanView scanner is? Is it a sort of radio where you can hear all the conversations between the pilots and the pit crews?
You told me to buy the ticket directly from the track, but did you mean on Sunday or some days before the race day?
Thanks again for everything!
Bye
