type size: + -MANSFIELD, Ohio -- With all the stopping and starting going on, Dennis Setzer figured there was no reason for him to stop on his own.
Going the 250-lap distance without a pit stop, Setzer took advantage of bad luck that befell leader Rick Crawford to win Saturday's rain-interrupted Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motor Speedway.
It was Setzer's first Craftsman Truck Series victory in almost two seasons.
Crawford appeared headed for an easy victory, building a large margin over Setzer. However, with 11 laps remaining, Crawford cut a tire and limped to the pits as Setzer raced by.
It was a long day's journey into night for the drivers, teams, crews and fans, who braved yellow and red flags which made the total time of the race more than seven hours.
The race began on time but shortly after the start, a steady rain forced the first delay. Spotty showers then interferred with attempts to dry the track -- and concerns about lightning caused track officials to evacuate the grandstands and infield.
Rain forced yet another long delay just before the halfway point, but once the race restarted on Lap 116, the weather stayed away long enough to allow the entire distance to be run.
