The 5 second rule is great. But there are definite situations that it doesn't apply. I'm wondering where you work gordonfan. Most work places I would probably have a no second rule. My house, totally fine, just have to check for cat hairs. Most tables I don't care, but some places are really a no-no. That and I usually don't do it if people are watching either hehe.
