lol this is from my local News website, it's not that strange or very intresting but I just had to post the article and the comments that people left.

Instead of having a hostile reaction, a driver offered his thanks when officers pulled him over on suspicion of drunken driving for a fifth time.

A criminal complaint quotes 52-year-old David Hyland of Plymouth as saying, "Thank you very much for everything you've done for me" after he was stopped early last Friday.

The complaint says he added, "I shouldn't have been driving and deserve to get caught."

According to the complaint filed in Sheboygan County Circuit Court, a Plymouth police officer saw Hyland's vehicle weaving and pulled him over.

After he failed field sobriety tests and registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.14 percent, or over the limit of 0.08 percent, he told officers he knew he had been drinking too much to drive.

The felony charge carries up to three years in prison.

This is the stupidest thing I have seen on a news site. Oh, so now that he's been caught driving drunk four other times (and presumably convicted), he went out got drunk again, made the decision to get in a vehicle and take the chance that he might kill others (who cares if he dies or not), gets pulled over and....BOOOM the sun comes out, the cloudy skies part, the voice of God can be heard saying "David, you have done wrong, see the error of your ways, live right from now on." So he thanks the officers. Come on, this guy is not going to change. He could get a $100,000 fine, thrown in jail for 10 years, and in the 11th year he would be picked up again. These kind of people should be forced to have ignition interlock systems installed.

How does a drunk saying something stupid become news?
