Hi, Jamie from UK here... have posted a couple of times before... but now can help out.. I've just come back from Phoenix, where we hired a camper and took it to the track... best thing ever... the campground was great, and atmosphere very friendly, though many of our neighbours couldn't believe I had travelled all the way from the UK to 'just watch NASCAR'...

Hired the camper from cruise america, for $600 dollars though we did have it for 5 days... campground cost $40, so both sensible money and very easy to do. meant we could walk to track at any time, have a drink in the bar, listen to the live bands etc. Food and beers for the week cost $75 plus cost of tickets, but whether you camp or stay in hotel you've got this to pay.

We turned up on the Thursday, so got to see the races on Thursday night, Friday night, Qualy and practice on Saturday, Busch and Nextel....

It was the little extras which proved more difficult... flying in from the UK, meant we didn't have a BBQ, etc so had to buy one, and then just donate it to our neighbours when we left. Party atmosphere was great.

As for racing, that was good too!...

Already planning another trip in 2007, though will pick an eastern state, as travel time to Phoenix with connections was 15 hours.

Jamie
