I've been on here for a couple of weeks and I'm just now getting around to doing this. I have to say that this is the best place I have found for Nascar discussions. It seems like most of the people posting on here really know their racing and I am damn glad I found this site. I've been watching Nascar and Indy racing since I was three and I follow a little F1 and NHRA. Nascar is what I follow the most and I am a fan of Dale Jr. and Sr., the Pettys, Smoke, Jimmy Johnson, Kahne, Hornish, the RCR guys, Montoya, and Hamlin. I hate the Busch brothers. Half the fun of talking about Nascar is disagreeing about it so I don't take it personal when someone has a different point of view than me and hope the rest of you think likewise. Peace!

I have never liked Gordon, no real good reason for it, I just always thought he came across as whiny. With that being said, the first time I got to see a race in person was at Texas the year that Kenseth won. Gordon took a car that was maybe at best the tenth fastest on the track and drove it like he was a friggin' machine to a second place finish from way back in the field. Three more laps and he would have beaten Kenseth, who had a rocket that day. Through the whole race, one of my buddies that went with me and absolutely hates Gordon, kept trying to point out how much better Gordon's car was driving than everyone elses. He did not miss a mark the entire day and he was blowing by faster cars. Until last year I was in a fantasy racing league at the bar I like to watch the races at and I picked Gordon every year. I may not like him but I sure as hell didn't like putting my money against him. The guy is one of the greatest drivers to ever walk the planet and even though I'm not a fan no one can say that he has ever disrespected the sport, unlike the Busch Brothers. I have a question for you, do you think his current slump is the result of his team struggling, trouble adapting to the new car or do you think he is driving scared? I hope I am wrong but I think the wreck he had earlier this year(was it at California?) might have taken a little something out of him. I hope not because he is a hell of a driver and a hell of a villain for the fans.

Are you talking about where he hit the pit entrance w/o the safer barrier? I am thinking that was vegas. Was a heck of a hit, I know my breath caught in my chest.
I asked the same question just of HMS as a whole, because they had such a handle on the COT last year. One reply from flash said they changed the tires. Also other teams caught up.
I have never even considered the scared idea. I will say that listening to him every year I feel maybe it could be. I really think he just isn't used to not having a car that could handle. He might be spoiled lol
Letarte seems to be having trouble getting the car right, and their pit stops have been horrible. I don't see things changing for the rest of the year, but I usually plan for the worst and hope for the best.
I am impressed with HMS cars holding up to Jr's driving, and Jr is doing well just having horrible luck.

That was the wreck. As for Jr's luck I think it is of his own making, I'm one of the Jr fans that thinks Eury Jr needs to go(been saying it for three years). I was glad to see him going to Hendrick, I just wish he would run his car like he did in '02 or '03. I don't like watching guys race for points. I'm glad Tony is leaving Gibbs and I am also glad that Gibbs was caught cheating, I just wish Nascar was interested in doing something to stop it.
