I would have to back you up on the Chase having flaws, becasue its hard to defend your championship if your not even in the chase. If there was a tie between 10th and 11th in points after Richmond, there would of been an 11 man chase or if the 11th place driver was in 400 points of the lead. You might disagree with me now, but if it was your favorite driver that was the defending champion, you would agree with me 110% all the way.
i agree with you.. although i dislike stewart.. he had a good year and should be competing for the chase

Well I guess seeing your driver with 1 win and mine with 4 wins, and Harvick sitting in the top of the points standings in Busch AND Cup. PlZ tell me where your driver stands in the point standings, and that hot streak has been going on all season, 6 wins in the Busch Series and 4 in the Cup, and the one Busch win Earnhardt got was when he cheated when he spun out Carl Edwards. It really ticks me off when NASCAR will give all the other drivers fines and warnings and stuff, but when it is the ALL MIGHTY DALE EARNHARDT JR. they dont do anything and I am glad that he got booed when he spun out Carl Edwards, he deserved it.
To set the record straight, they were not booing Earnhardt for moving the loose car of Edwards out of the way, they were booing because he did not do any burnouts after the race.
but you have to admit that some drivers get away with a little more than some, because last year Jimmie Johnson failed a post-race inspection after he won at Las Vagus and didnt do anything. Dale Jr. spun out Carl Edwards in a busch race and NASCAR again didnt do anything. Now, Clint Bowyer accidenty got into the back of some1 in a race becasue his car was faster in the turns then the guy he wrecked, what did NASCAR do, sent him to the back for wreckless driving. Carl Edwards comes back on the track and hits Dale Jr. and NASCAR gives him a heavy fine (not saying that is right to come back on the track and hit some1...thats what got Cole Trickle fired lol) but not giving Dale Jr. any fines was wrong. Im not saying anything bad about Dale Jr., im just saying he gets away with more than most becasue of his last name.
When are you Harvick fans going to forget about the whole Harvick was suspended for a race 3 years ago and no one else has? GET OVER IT! Harvick is usually out of control. The only reason why he is not his normal self this year is because he is having a great year. Ala Stewart last year. Just watch, if Harvick has a worse year in 07 then 06, he will be right back to his 05 and 04 ways. Just give him alittle time. Stewart is a prime example of what happens when your season is not going so well even though he still barely missed the chase. This year was probablly way more stressful for him then 05. I am getting of subject. Just get over the whole Nascar is against Harvick issue. Just enjoy the racing.

NASCAR handing out penalties for people who move cars out of the way to win is absolutely redicilious and needs to stop. Moving cars out of the way to win is a part of racing. Thats another reason of many reasons why Dale Earnhardt was called "The Itimidator", because when he was batteling for the lead in the closing laps, if you didn't give him room, he would move you out of the way. The bottom line is you race to win, and if you have to move people out of the way to win then so be it. If Dale Earnhardt was still around, NASCAR wouldn't be handing out penalties for moving people out of the way. Well, NASCAR would be a totally different sport if Dale Earnhardt was still around.
Dont forget that Harvick is the only person to win the Brickyard 400 from the pole.
What does this have to do with anything. With that statemate, we could link it to the J. Gordon/teammate thread. He had help from Robby Gordon holding up the rest of faster cars so Harvick could get away.
Anyway, back to the original statement, I would have to agree that J.J. is pretty much out of contention, and that is in head, and he is stressing because this will be the third year that he has gone into the chase in the top 2 only to go home empty handed. Let's just wait and see how he does in these final 8 races, I believe he will move into the top 5 by seasons end. The team is to strong.

Jimmie Johnson will have to finish in the top 5 or atleast top 10 if he wants to contend for the championship. 12th place finishes won't do the job these days. We will have to wait and see, but if Johnson dosen't win the championship thiis year, then we could be seeing another Mark Martin, a good driver that may never win the championship, although I am not counting out Mark Martin's chances on winning the championship.

Robby Gordon wanted to win that race just as bad as Harvick did. Harvick and R. Gordon hated each other. And as of strong team. lets see. Harvick has won 2 of his last 3. Burton has the championship lead with 1 win and bowyer is 3rd fastest in Kansas practice. I think all 3 of these teams have it clicking.
There you go, that is exactly what I am talking about. All the drivers on the same team work and help with each other. That is not what the #25 did with his teammate.
Now I feel that two threads are talking about the same thing. We should keep the teammate thread where it belongs, over on the " everything else Nascar" category.
Tough race for J.J., he did bounce back to finish 14th. Not bad, even though he didn't move up in the standings. Like Darkside said before, those types of finishes will not get him anywhere. Only 7 left.
