NASCAR Driver Kasey Kahne Remains the Object of Affection for “Allstate Girls” in New Spots in Popular Advertising Campaign
Two New Allstate Spots to Break on FOX During Telecast of Sprint Cup Series Race in Las Vegas March 2
Taylor PR For Allstate, Press Release
NORTHBROOK, Ill. (February 27, 2008) – NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne is best known for the lead foot that propels him to speeds close to 200 miles per hour, but the seven-time Sprint Cup Series race winner proves he’s also quick on his feet in Allstate’s new 2008 motorsports-themed television commercials.
Building on the popularity of the first three years of its “Allstate Girls” advertising campaign, Allstate, the official insurance sponsor of Gillett Evernham Motorsports, is kicking off the 2008 Sprint Cup Series season with the launch of two new television spots featuring Kahne, the Allstate Girls, and for the first time on camera, a pairing of Kahne and Allstate spokesperson Dennis Haysbert. The commercials will debut March 2 during FOX’s third Sprint Cup Series telecast of the season.
One of the spots showcases Kahne as a nimble-footed dancer in a music video spoof, reprising his familiar role as the object of the Allstate Girls’ affection. The lighthearted commercials tout Allstate’s Your Choice Auto® Insurance, which offers greater protection with features such as Accident Forgiveness and special rewards like the new Safe Driving BonusSM Check to customers who drive safely and are accident-free on the road. The spots are available for viewing at www.allstate.com.
“These new commercials build on the success of our previous spots while creating a unique safe driving message that resonates with NASCAR fans,” said Lisa Cochrane, Allstate’s vice president of marketing. “The spots deliver our brand message, integrate our assets and bring Dennis and Kasey together on camera for the first time – we’re thrilled with the final product.”
The 60- and 30-second spot titled “Sponsorship” features Kahne and the three Allstate Girls. The spot opens with the girls dining at a café, discussing how they will spend the Safe Driving BonusSM Check they just received from Allstate. It slowly dissolves into a dream sequence detailing a unique sponsorship opportunity with the girls and Kahne’s race car. Showcasing some never-before-seen dance moves, Kahne only fuels the affection the girls have developed for him over the last three years. The ad closes with Haysbert promoting Allstate’s new Safe Driving BonusSM Check, part of Allstate Your Choice Auto® Insurance.
A 30-second spot titled “Dennis & Kasey” opens with Haysbert and Kahne standing near the garages at a racetrack on race day with Kahne’s stock car in the background. As Kahne and Haysbert tout Allstate’s new Safe Driving BonusSM Check, an unexpected encounter with the Allstate Girls leads to an unfortunate, yet humorous ending for Kahne’s race car. The ad ends with Haysbert promoting Allstate’s Your Choice Auto® Accident Forgiveness feature.
“It was a blast shooting these latest Allstate commercials,” Kahne said. “Practicing my dance moves for the ‘Sponsorship’ spot helped me realize that I won’t be leaving racing to pursue a career as a hip-hop dancer. The commercial with Dennis and I was an honor to shoot – we had a great time together.”
Both spots were created by Leo Burnett. These ads will run exclusively during television programming throughout the 2008 Sprint Cup Series season. Fans can also view the commercials by logging onto Allstate.com. In addition to the television spots, interactive components of the campaign will feature a Safe Driving BonusSM Check virtual garage where fans can design their own stock car and e-mail it to their friends, as well as an Accident Forgiveness-branded banner where visitors can download an interactive desktop widget of Kahne for their computer.
In 2008, Allstate continues as the official insurance sponsor of Gillett Evernham Motorsports, which includes Sprint Cup Series drivers Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and Patrick Carpentier. This will also be Allstate’s fourth year as the title sponsor for the Allstate® 400 at the Brickyard®, to be held July 27 at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Allstate’s Your Choice Auto® Insurance offers customers more protection, added incentives and new rewards for driving safely. Your Choice Auto® offers customers more options and features, including: Accident Forgiveness, the new Safe Driving BonusSM Check, Deductible RewardsSM and New Car Replacement.

I thought I hated the commercials last year...please stop. I don't know I've ever kept a negative opinion about an athlete base soley on his endorsements, but to be honest, I can't stand to see him race because of these spots. Again, please stop.
