Post Dear NASCAR: Suggestions to improve our sport!

Normally, I'm a positive person but I'm also a realist and I know that nothing gets changed unless people speak out. Anyway I got this idea to create this thread and give y'all a chance to make suggestions to NASCAR.

Each month, I'll print this thread and compile the results and send them to NASCAR along with my printout of this complete thread.

Here's what I have heard from other fans, so this list will be our starting point. Please use the next available number to add to it!

1. Ticket prices too high!
2. Concession stand/souvenir prices too high!
3. Races start too late in the day!
4. Revise the points and award more points to the winner!
5. Top 35 has gotta go.
6. COT doesn't have anything in common with a stock car! Use manufacturers car bodies!
8. Eliminate speed restrictions. (It's called racin')
9. Eliminate testing restrictions, they cripple teams!
10. Get rid of the chase, it penalizes drivers & teams who run their butt off all year only to have to start all over again in the chase!
11. Get rid of the lucky dog! (Thanks Nascarchick!)
12. Give Canada a race date! (Thanks nascar freak)

Please copy the ones you agree with (1 thru 12) and any additional numbers added by others to your post and please feel free to comment on your choices!

If we continue to remain silent we get what we ask for, nothing!

Rubbin's Racin!

Out of the 10 original comments you made the one's I've copied above I certainly agree with. I was lucky enough to get to the Pepsi 400 last year and the prices were very exspensive when you take into consideration most of us are having to pay travel and accomadation fees as well. The only one I really didn't agree with was the scrapping of speed restricitions. I can understand what you mean, but on the big 2.5 mile super speedways I think speed restricitions are neccessary for the obvious safety elements involved! We don't want to see a repeat of any previous racing disasters!

My personal fav.
1. Dont forget the fans who built this sport refer to #1 &#2

2. For the Daytona races...Start the races around 10 11 am so that the people who live in Florida dont have to make accomodations with a 2 and 3 night minimum. I am no weather man but the races in the Morning early afternoon less chance of being rained out....(just a thought)

3. Nascar should talk to the county's and regulate price goudging. Ive lived in Florida my whole life. The hotels that people are paying 200 to 300 a night with a 3 night min during the events are normaly 79 to 90 a night. Another example of pricing the "origanal fans out of the race"

I agree. When I visted the States last July/august I was staying in Tampa and came over to Daytona for the races. The cost of travel wasn't too bad and we managed to find a hotel that would except us to stay for just 1 night after the race; but still those costs added to tickets etc all soon mount up!! I certainly feel that if local hotels weren't allowed to increase their prices above a certain level then that would be better for all!

Why would you get rid of the lucky dog? i thinks its great. With the way you have talked...u show 2 diff sides that are the same thing...you said we need to get rid of the chase because drivers that have raced their butt off all year just have to start all over...but having the lucky dog is the same thing...someone could race their but off all race, but 1 flat tire (that is not their fault) could cause them to go down pit road, eliminating their chance to win a race that they shoulda won.

but what I do agree with is making tixs cheaper! Sometimes it is better to watch them on tv for free (especially road courses) because at those live, u can barely see all the track...and same with daytona and talledega.
