Cool driver integrity

i am an avid Nascar fan. I can't get enough.
Seems like it is the only sport left, which doesn't
get caught up in the news because of drugs, or scandal.
however, i have recently learned that some drivers "cheat"
on their girlfriends or wives, and have girls fly in to a race
just to , well, you know..
This is very disturbing. I know we are all adults, and i guess
to each his own, however, these guys are heroes.
Not just the kind of heroes for kids, or young teens aspiring
to be all they can be, but for us, the older generation, the one's
who have followed these drivers, and teams for years, they are
OUR heroes too!, should we not hold them up to a higher level?
any comments welcome.
thank you

I could see there being Nascar groupies, but I don't know how many or how far they could get. Most of the drivers have their wives with them. Maybe not every race but quite a few. I personally don't worry about their personal lives because my concern with them is what they do on the track. What they do in their personal life is none of my business just as what I do in my personal life is no one else's business!

I think you are right, people watch NASCAR for different reasons. The older fans try to relate to the drivers, if they own up to what they done on the track, how honest they are, if they wine and blame other people if they don't win, if there crew chief is caught cheating on more than 1 occasion. As far as the girlfriend-wives I don't know. But if NASCAR found out, There would be problems for that driver

sadly enough, it is true. I can't name any names, but,
these things are happening. I personally know of one
girl, (for lack of a better word), who had an ongoing affair
with a top nascar crew chief. the affair broke up the girl's
marriage, the crew chief dumped her, and now I know of
2 drivers she has "frequented".
to verify my authenticity, i WILL say that this girl was once
part of my "in-law" family. Her husband and 2 children were devastated.
so, i wonder what nascar would do?
This crew chief, for one of THE TOP teams, could have been sued for alienation of affection, but
the husband took her back at a last ditch effort to save his family.
that lasted about 1 month, and she went back to her old ways.
really don't think she ever stopped.
maybe i am just venting my outrage here, because, although she
is to blame for her actions, ... the actions could never have been, had
the behavior not been encouraged.
maybe I just expected more from our "heroes", because
i believe she was star-struck, and to this day, is still
frequenting drivers.
sad, very sad.

I think Nascar already knows...
It happens all the time. Even Rusty has cheated!

it is disappointing, i'm personally appalled by these woman and i believe that if your going to a racetrack, be there to watch the race not ogle the drivers. i know that at our local track we have a select few lizards that all they do all day is parade around the pits that look like they their going out for the night, not going to the track. i also remember on one occasion a female fan asked in front of me & my mom for my dad to sign her chest (needless to say he declined). so this isn't something thats restricted to the higher levels of nascar. while everyone goes for their own reason, i go to race or watch racing, not fawn over some pretty boy driver.

I have been married to my husband for 21 years together 27 and he played in a band for most of that time and I seen women come and go who wanted to hook up with the guys in the band, and I saw much stuff threw the years and all I can say is that it is no differant in any sport or any job men will go for anything that is offered, so these girlfriends and wives need to just stick by there men and nothing can happen, as nothing ever happened when I was around, and it is so true I'm not going to races to pick up guys i'm into it for the fun of racing and whats in their personal life isnt anybodies business but their own.

It would depend on the media interest. If the story got out NASCAR would take action they all have clauses in there contracts so they can terminate in such an event, through there team contract. Such as failing a drug test or anything the would be seen on David Letterman's Show

I,m not real sure if I want to comment on all this unsubstainiated gossip
I did however meet my wife of many many years at a racetrack ( Daytona ) But she never asked me to sign her chest

Overall the morals of society have changed The meanings of Honesty,Loyalty,Respect and Love have taken a beating along the way and Marriage has become nothing more than a temporary thing for many Families, its Sad.
That being said from what I,ve seen the people involved in NASCAR and racing in general seem to have much better family values than society as a whole.
