Drivers license renewal

Hey guys, just out of curiosity, who much do you pay to renew your drivers license where you live.
Here in Ontario we pay $75 for a 5 year renewal and $74 per year for your plate renewal, plus $35 every 2 years for an emisions test. Etests are required on all vehicles over 3 years old.

Yeah FL did away with emissions stuff years ago, my husband says it was cause it wasn't cost effective, eveyone was passing the emissions test, too many new cars here. I have a save the whales plate and I think it's like $62 ish to renew it every year.

I guess we are pretty blessed in Florida with what we pay for renewals. Drivers licences are $25.00, and tags are dependent on the weight of the vehicle. I usually have a "land yacht" and that's approx. $58.00 a year. A small subcompact can be tagged for about $20.00 a year. The thinking goes back to the 1930-40's, with the heavier cars being charged more because they have a harder impact on the roadways. The speciality tags like Kerri has are $25-$40 extra. We have over 100 different speciality tags you can purchase, depending on your preferences. We have a number of wildlife, livestyle, causes, and university tags. ~LOL~ If you like something, Florida has a tag to soot you!

I'm so glad they did away with the emissions testing, it was a waste to time and money in the long run. If your vehicle didn't pass the emissions test, you could get a variance for a number of reasons. Then they tried to just do the emissions testing in certain highly populated parts of the state. After a year or two of that, they just gave up on it all together!

i'm not sure what i payed the last time i renewed my drivers license.
plate renewal depends on how new your car is. i pay $100.00 for
my 99" truck and their going up this year.
as for that emisions test. that's a scam just like global warming.

the basic dl renewal is ten bucks

for a cdl it is 60 bucks

kinda weird how the fees are.. drivers over 68 it is only 5 bucks

http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/vehicles/basicfees.html

passenger car is $78 for registration

there are several specialty plates that cost more and several vanity plates that are more expensive.

emmisions tests are not required.. but I think certain parts of chicago do require them ... depends where you live....

Wow, funny how south of the border your rates are so different, and even in different parts of your state you pay different fees.
Here in Ontario, unless you live in Northern Ontario the fees are the same,.( In the north it is half)
My vanity plates cost $75 to buy and then the $74/ year renewal.
Years ago we had different fees for a 4,6 or 8 cylinder but now we all pay the same.

As for the Etest, it may not do much to help the environment, but it sure got a lot of the old oil burning cars and trucks off the roads, up here if your car fails you can get a one time exemption for $400.

I don't remember what I paid for DL renewal but I think it was around $28 and it's good for 5 years. Our car plates depend on the value of your car and how many cyl. I paid $38 last month for new tags to put on my plates for my cavalier.
