they are morrells... fungus...darn good eating nascarspace and well prized.... yum yum... although I like the ones ya trip over... them appear too small and sneaky for my aging eyes...lol but thank ya for the warning about them being up... knew it was close... the crazy weather we are having around here I figured you would need a weed whacker to find them!!!!

YOu were right I did spell it wrong it is Morels. They are a fungus that grows in the woods. Mushrooms and around here they sell for 70 to 80 dollars a pound. Superb eating!!!! Have not got pictures of the big ones yet they will come soon!!!

We just had this same discussion on our ATV board. I had never heard of them before, but as I jokingly carried on in our thread... those look like the mushrooms that grow in the area that my dog likes to 'frequent'
