mystery would be solved

I have heard it expressed time and time again by the media this weekend, wondering why the ratings for the races are slipping. If someone would bother to take a couple minutes and read some forums I think the mystery would be solved quickly. How long do you think its going to take to understand we are sick of the constant barrage of commercials. A few of us die hards will either watch or record and fast forward thru the commercials. If I wasn't really into racing I know I would turn to another program if I had to watch the constant commercials. I do it now, there are several channels I don't watch because little show, lots of interruptions. Speed Movies being one of them. NASCAR wise up or your programs are not going to be worth much. At the lease give us split screen.

I agree with there WV! I have the TV on during the race, but for the most part I am not really watching it. I have the Trackpass on and lately have been chatting during the race either here at at the Nascar.com chat room. I only watch when something has happened on the track because the commercials are just too many and too often. The radio is still the best race coverage in my book!

I am hoping that ABC/ESPN will go with the split screen and limit the commercials some. I know they need them to make money, but come on!! I also think that they should break into the commercials when the track conditions change ( a caution or a restart, etc).

It would be nice if the powers that be would take the race fans opinions into consideration about this!

YES YES YES! They have got to get that little box up during commercials! Well, I call it a little box, but now I know it's proper name is "split screen". I'm so sick of seeing the same commercials over and over, along with the terrible timing. They'll go a few laps, then go to commerical, come back to show about 5 laps, then the same commercials again, come back to say there's a caution, then the SAME commercials. That has got to stop!

I have a friend who is just getting into NASCAR, and it's a little hard to keep her attention during the races due to all the commercial breaks. I understand that's how they pay their bills, but they have got to space them out more, and get the split screen.

Sidenote: Another thing I would like to see change is their focus on just the Chasers. I know they're important and all, but there are 33 other drivers on the track. Those drivers have fans too.

The ratings are going down because of too many commercials and the fact that the Chase is the worst playoff system in sports history, and they focus on the Chasers than the real racing going on. Thats why NASCAR Winston Cup racing was so great, they focused on the great racing instead of the championship contenders. Of course, they aired the championship contenders, but they didn't air them as much as they do today.

ITA with you all on this. Doesn't it seem NBC is worse about this? or is it just me? There will be a caution and they don't even break commercials for us to see real time. I agree with mrsmopar12 I just watch trackpass and occasionally look up from the computer

I think NBC is worse too than Fox. Sooo glad they are going away. The last 2 rundowns I've seen, there was 63 and 66 minutes of total commercials. Last race I watched a movie that I had taped when the commercials came on. Only spin I missed was DJ's and they replayed that. Pretty funny when DJ parked in Sorensen's pit stall. Lol, go DJ!

DJ would have stayed there too if they would let him. I miss the brawls. I miss Jimmy Spencer fighting with everyone too. I don't want anyone to get hurt but I want some action, and I don't mean wreaks lol
Instead we get commercials

I also read that they put peices of DJ's wrecked car in front of the door to Sorensen's hauler. Now that is quite a calling card!
