ok here is the results and recap from the tracks website.. the track is owned by shrader, wallace, tony stewart and bob sargent... this was a make up date.. originally it was supposed to be memorial day... rain out.. but I could not go then... so it worked out for me...lol .. they had a huge event over the weekend before this and many of the fans and cars were not there since it was a rain date.. sorta disappointing, but I got to go through both autograph lines instead of just one! mentioned the site to jimmy and kenny.. maybe they will join us here.. many of the ticket holders probably traded their tix in for other nights events..
8-19-08 RECAP

(Macon, IL) Dan Stamm and his family from Penfield arrived at Macon Speedway Tuesday morning at 11am to meet his favorite NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick. He was first in line for the autograph session with Harvick, Jimmy Spencer, Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader. He was extremely pleased to once again meet his favorite. “We came to last year’s show, too, and we’ve been to all of them,” said Stamm. “I love Kevin Harvick.” He had multiple die cast replicas for Harvick to sign.

Nancy Dragoo and Richard Floyd arrived at 2pm to meet their favorite SPEED-TV analysts Kenny Wallace and Jimmy Spencer. Floyd even picked Schrader to win the night’s BARBECK Modifieds feature.

The evening started with the Northern All-Star Late Models and qualifying. Decatur’s Butch Smith was the overall fast qualifier with a 10.833 lap time.

The drop of NASCAR Night’s green flag came from Jimmy Spencer who came to Macon Speedway for the first time. “Wow, this track is small. This is going to be neat!” Spencer dropped the first event’s green flag with Macon Speedway co-owner Ken Schrader starting second row inside. On the white flag lap, Schrader made the pass for the lead and held on for the win. Kenny Morris, a native of Virginia, IL., who led the first seven laps, finished second.

Kenny Wallace and Kevin Harvick raced in heat three and tried to battle for the top spots but the Macon regulars wouldn’t give up the lead on their home track. Decatur’s Brad Crosby held off the field for the checkered flag. Wallace finished third and Harvick in fifth.

The Northern All-Star Late Models put on a terrific display of racing in three heats. Kyle Logue, who won a $2,000 bonus at Saturday’s Herald & Review 100 for being a 10-appearance Macon driver and finishing higher than any other Macon regular, won the first heat. Steve Sheppard, Jr. won the second heat with his 15-year-old son Brandon Sheppard taking second, passing Butch Smith on lap nine of ten. Dennis Erb, Jr. came into the night with a 34-point advantage in the Northern All-Star Late Models points race, finished ahead of Jason Feger, who is second in the Northern All-Stars points.

Steve Ewing continued his dominance in the Street Stocks, taking the heat win as did Troy Dodson.

The BARBECK Modifieds feature event was first and Ken Schrader from Fenton, MO., started on the pole. Schrader won the Night of NASCAR Stars event on June 14 when the field was full of NASCAR drivers. Competing against his fellow NASCAR drivers and Macon Speedway regulars, Schrader led all 20 laps and picked up the feature win.

The Best Fan in the Stands honor went to the driver who finished eighth. Macon Speedway co-owner Kenny Wallace raced with long-time Macon racer Roger Drake for the eighth place position and was awarded the $100 bonus. Wallace selected a young fan and Go-Kart racer as the Best Fan in the Stands.

Kevin Harvick did not have a very good night at Macon Speedway in his no. 29 Larry Shaw racecar. Harvick left the feature on lap 11 with a flat right front tire.

The Northern All-Star Late Models left Macon Speedway on Saturday after racing 100 laps for $6,000. They returned Tuesday for a 30-lap feature and $2,000 at stake.

Cisco’s Kyle Logue had the pole alongside Carpentersville native Dennis Erb, Jr. Logue had the lead up until the end of lap eight and turn four when Erb, Jr. took the lead to start lap nine and did not relinquish the lead. Despite efforts by Jason Feger and Kyle Logue, the lead was not jeopardized and Dennis Erb, Jr. went on to win the feature.

Steve Ewing’s dominance in the Street Stock division continued with yet another feature win. He has won five features in a row and six overall. Troy Dodson and Larry Russell, Jr. tried to find a line to catch up to Ewing but nothing was going to stop him from the feature.

Morse Driveways and King-Lar Company each donated $75 each to the winners of the BARBECK Modified feature and the Street Stock feature. Ken Schrader and Steve Ewing each received $150 compliments on those companies.

Up next at Macon Speedway is the Mueller Distributing Lite Beer Twin 50s. A 50-lap feature for the Chevrolet Late Models paying $1,500-to-win and a 50-lap feature for the BARBECK Modifieds paying $750-to-win. Hogan/Grain & Equipment Sportsman, Street Stocks and Pro and Amateur Hornets will also make up the show Saturday night.

8-19-08 RESULTS

(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway co-owners Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace were at it again. The Night of NASCAR Stars originally scheduled for Memorial Day was made up Tuesday with both NASCAR stars and 2007 Daytona 500 winner Kevin Harvick competing in the BARBECK Modifieds. SPEED-TV analyst and former Cup driver Jimmy Spencer was also along for the fun with the autograph session and commentary.

Schrader won his second feature at Macon this year. The first feature was the NASCAR Night which featured 13 NASCAR drivers on June 14. Kenny Wallace finished eight in the feature. Kevin Harvick did not finish because of a flat right front tire on lap 11.

Dennis Erb, Jr. came close to winning the Herald & Review 100 Saturday night in the Northern All-Star Late Model event but lost the lead to Kevin Weaver. Erb would not allow that same drama to unfold Tuesday. Starting front row outside of Macon Speedway points leader Kyle Logue, Erb passed Logue on lap nine and did not let go despite attempts by Jason Feger and Logue.

Steve Ewing won his fifth Street Stock feature in a row and sixth overall with the dominant 12-lap race.
