we are going to rent an RV for the infield and can't seem to get any info on bringing a car along and going in and out for food ,booze etc.

I have not been to Daytona, so I can not give you a for sure answer. Usually I do believe that there are scheduled times that you can go and come from the infield via the tunnel. I have no idea how much of a hassle that would be, so my suggestion is to bring what you need with you when you get there.

I want to do the same thing at Atlanta in the spring, so maybe we can help each other out with some info. Who did you rent the RV from? They should be able to give you this kind of info, I would think. Here is the contact info for Daytona International Speedway:
