Hey Redneckgirl, sorry there is no tutorial. I use to have to do that too, when I was new to the site. On the bottom of each page there is a forum jump and that will take you anywhere you want to go quickly. Also at the very bottom is a link it say "NASCAR Space - The NASCAR community Nascar Forums" right beside the "Contact Us" that link takes you to the opening page and you will be able to see the last 10 posts there. That is how I learned to navigate the site. Also on that opening page you can close just about all the things. Like the current poll (which is so outdated!) and it makes it easier to use.
