Ticked Off at DirecTV!

Ok so heres the deal.
On October 10th my Mom called DirecTV and talked with a lady about ordering it. We picked the package we wanted and my Mom gave her all the info she needed. The lady told her that everything was set and a guy would be coming to hook it all up on November 6th. Now we were sorta thinking "Geez, November 6th? that's a long wait" but the lady said that they were booked up until then but she would give my Mom a call if anyone canceled and we could get hooked up earlier.

Well no one canceled so we waited and my Mom took off of work on the 6th.
The guy was supposed to be here between 8 and Noon the woman told us.
Well we got up that morning and had everything ready for him to come, we sat and waited for hours and he didn't come.
So around 11 my Mom calls DirecTV and explains to the people how we were supposed to have a guy come hook up the stuff today but he is a no show.
She gives the guy her info and he looks on his computer and sees that our last order for DirecTV was never fully processed!
So the lady that my Mom talked to the first time must of never finished our order or something because no guy was ever scheduled to come to our house.
So the guy helped my Mom set up a new order and he said that a guy would be at our house in the next few days to install it but since DirecTV screwed up our last order he said we could get coupons or something from the Help and Support people, he gave my Mom the support number and then she hung up with him to call that number.
So my Mom called that number and talked to a Lady, she gave the lady her info and told the lady the story about how our first order never got processed and all that.
The lady enters my Mom's info into her computer and can't find anything, she told my Mom that there was no recored of any of my Mom's orders in her computer (not even the order that my Mom made with the guy who gave her the support and help number!).
Right about now is when my Mom is really starting to get ticked off...also note that she was put on hold about 4 times just with these two people.
So this lady transfers my Mom to this guy who looks up my Mom's info in his computer....well he finds my Mom in his computer but then he sends her to this other lady in the department that's called "ACE"
This lady has my Mom set up another order with her but she tells my Mom that a guy wouldn't be able to come hook up until December 5th!
That made my Mom even more mad so she asked the lady if there was anyway a guy could come to our house sooner then that.
The lady put my Mom on hold for about a half hour while she tried to get in touch with our local DirecTV place (right here in town) to see if they could get a guy here sooner.
Well the lady finally got through to them but they said they couldn't be here any earlier then December 5th but they would call my Mom if anything opened up.

So my Mom called DirecTV at 11 and didn't get done talking to them until about 2:30 that afternoon and we went through all that trouble just so we could wait another month for a guy to come hook up. But maybe this order won't even be processed like the first one!
What a bunch of krap! right?

Sounds like their customer service needs a major tune up. Whenever I speak to someone for service on the phone, I try to remember to make notes of names and times and even reference numbers. I would write to customer service and send a identical copy to the president, and be polite. List all the information that you can. You would be amazed what you might get for a response. It will improve your writing skills and make you feel better.

wow that sux... I only had a slight problem with them... took a few minutes to correct, but their system said my address did not exist... so i guess I truly live in limbo! guy was here sweating his behind off on a 100 degree day.. right on time... but I got bundled... with verizon... and verizon has been ridiculous! hope ya get it all settled out by daytona!

Well I just hope that this order gets processed this time!
cuz right now we just have rabbit ears on our TV's and I haven't been able to watch the races or football for almost 2 months!

thats stinks right now I'm ticked with our local sprint store i was supposed to get my first new cell phone in 5 years on wedensday they didn't have any and neither did their warehouse they said they would have them friday friday came no phones still now it's monday i seriously need my phone soon

We had Dish Network a few years back when we lived in a different house and they sucked! they were charging us for movies and stuff even though we never ordered the movies. And cable just sucks! that's why we thought we would try DirecTV this time but hopefully we can get passed these issues we've been having with them...

That crap is really unacceptable. I wouldn't have let them tell me Dec. 5th. I probably would've stayed on the phone with them until they told me someone could be there the next day or that week. You don't have to be rude with the people just firm. Say listen, I ordered your product and took the freakin day off work!! And they keep saying sorry there's nothing I can do just say ok I will stay on the phone with you until there is something you can do. Pay your stupid hookup guy overtime tomorrow and get his butt to my house, because you guys messed up. All those call center people have supervisors around them too. If the person your talking to gets fed up enough they will put them on. But seriously not until Dec. 5th, that is awful.

Do you live in the middle of nowhere?
I'm guessing not cause you had cable before.

Good Luck, The wife and I decided a few months ago to try Direct TV over our local cable carrier ( Comcast ) We bascily received the same story, approx a month wait for hookup and then wait for a installation technician to show up "Sometime between" 8 am and 5 pm ( what the heck kind of "appointment" is that? well he was a no show anyway! Contacted Direct TV and was told it was the local operaters problem,contacted local operater was told the "Installation Technicians" were individual contractors and Are Not their responsibility, after ALOT of BS I was finaly given a number to contact a "Installation Technician" Directly ( pun intended, LOL ) he told me He had Prioritys and would do our installation at "His Convienence"...................I decided I liked our local cable carrier and their service was perfect for me!!!

Well what my Mom and I don't understand is that DirecTV says that they can't come until December 5th but they have a place right in town here...so are they just that booked up that they can't make it to our house that is just a few blocks away from their place???
I really can't see them being that booked up...but my Mom isn't going to wait for them to call us and tell us if they can make it here sooner, she is going to call them tomorrow.
