I figured with the season at a close and most of our members dreading the upcoming Nascar withdrawals, that I would go ahead and open a thread for you when you are feeling like you just can't wait for the Daytona 500 on Febuary 18, 2007.
Please feel free to post in this thread what you are doing currentlly to deal with the need for Nascar speed or your frustration at the lack of!
I have created a countdown ticker so that you can see that there is an end in sight to the lack of Nascar racing, and you can be hopeful that the Daytona 500 will be here soon!

Well kids, Sunday is a bittersweet day for me, as I'm sure it is for most of you. Exciting because we will have an new Nascar Nextel Cup Champion, and sad because it is the last race of the season.
At the present time my daughter and granddaughter and I live together and while I enjoy my Sundays with the race and all, my girls don't. I usually have both the TV and the computer during the race and that leaves them little to do and a lot of complaints! ~LOL~ I don't know how many times each Sunday I am asked "how many more laps is this?" and "is the race almost over yet?" Living with non-racers is like that. So this Sunday I am planning to do away with all of their complaining so I can enjoy the last race for 3 months! I am going to make sure that these Sweet Girls of mine have something to do away from me and my beloved race watching. I don't know yet what exactly I will do with them, hmmmm...there is a big closet and some rope. ...... No, I will not be that cruel to them, maybe I will treat them to a movie and out to dinner or something. Anything, just so they are out of the house and letting Mom enjoy the last race of the season!
After all, it is the last Nascar fix for a while!!!

Hopefully we will be able to watch this race and enjoy it in somewhat peace as well. We have DH's kids this weekend and they do the same. "how many more laps is there?" "is it over yet"? all followed by some serious groaning on their part as well. Afterwards start the withdrawal process. I unfortuntly might miss the first part of the race since I am to start the new job. Maybe the first part will be boring and I won't have missed much.

Yes, we will have to have our friends here Curves and Love throw something out on the track to cause a few cautions until you get home to watch the race! ~LOL~

Well as it turned out I had the day off from my new job today and was able to watch the entire race with my husband. Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although not to happy with the winner of it I won't complain. But now I have some funny ill effects going on. I am shaking uncontrollably, crying, chills and at times my eyes are rolling back into my head. Could it be withdrawals have already kicked in. Oh no, I can't make it till February!!!!!

Wow, it is only Wednesday and I am already jonesin'. I went and tried to find out where we were racin' this weekend so I could start a prerace thread, only to find out that there is no race this weekend! Oh, yeah, I forgot! I wish I could just sleep until February, now we know why bears hibernate!!!
Just to let all of you Nascar addicts know, I have started a new thread with some of the news from the off season. It is located in the Nascar News thread. So if you need a fix for the no-racin' blues, check it out.
If you would like to add anything please feel free to do so, I am still making my rounds daily to the racing sites, and it is sad how some of them haven't even added a thing since the end of the last race.
Us Nascar Junkies need to stick together so we can tough out the withdrawals and then when they start up those wonderful engines at Daytona come Febuary, we can all rejoice together.
