OK so here's my rant. I think it's cool that the fans get to vote in a driver for the All-Star race. BUT ... I don't think it's fair to the drivers out there that the media basically campaigns for one person every year and of course that person gets the vote. Not all are bad causes cause I remember a few years ago they said they were supporting Kyle Petty to raise $ for his charity. Yeah that was ok. Then they just keeping picking people. When Truex Jr. came on the scene Dale Jr. came out or the media/most fans and voted him in. Ok I can see how that's maybe alright cause Jr. is popular and ya know I guess Truex should be able to get some benefits from it right. Then all the Speed guys wanted Kenny Wallace in the race. Don't get me wrong, I love Kenny, but he's just not that good, he hasn't run with the big boys in most recent times. And now this year Dale Jr. again is out there saying, oh vote for my buddy Sadler. Another huge support from the media. Sadler is an ok driver. I used to like him a lot too, but man his performance is just wishy washy (technical term). So I wonder who will be voted in this year? It's just like man can't they give the drivers a fighting chance. I saw an interview with Kvapil and he was really excited cause he was trying to get out there and get the fan vote too but then he was like oh yeah so I heard Jr. is backing Sadler, so we're really stepping it up to race our way in. It's awesome one person can race in, but I just think it should be less bias for the vote. Well just some food for thought today.

VOTE FOR Kahne i have to say looking at the list of drivers he is the best known i personally think he will win the last chance race they have before hand

first glance at the drivers in the 'open', u would think Kahne wouldnt even need a vote. Nothin against the other drivers, but the only ones he has to watch out for are ragan and kvapil.

I also think Vickers and Blaney could have a shot to win

I can see your point Kerri. I also think that it's a bit unfair that you can vote as many times as you want to. You have to be logged on to you Nascar.com account to vote, so why not limit the daily vote to 5 or 10? That would make the whole voting a lot more accurate IMO. As some people without lives can sit there all day voting over and over for the same driver. Not a good way to determine who the fans really want to vote in, as some of us have other things to do than to vote all day and night!
I voted at least 100 times for David Ragan.

Why can't they have all 43 cars in the All Star race? Have two heat races to determine the lineup for the big race.
With all due respect, if they did that they couldn't call it the All Star Race. To qualify you must be a winner in the previous and current year, a past winner of this race within the last 10 years, or a past champion in the previous 10 years. If they let all 43 cars in it would be a short normal race. This race is all about the money and bragging rights, not points.

I don't think voting multiple times actually does anything to influence their decision... heck, I doubt voting itself does anything.
Like most "voting" that takes place (ie, American Idol, et al) the votes does really matter, it is produced and scripted for fan appeal and whoever the big-wigs think have the most audience appeal, they'll get it
But have fun fake-voting!
