What can I tell you about the Bristol track? Traffic to and from is your worst nightmare. You have to go 3 hours early to find a parking spot 2 miles down the road for $20.00. Tickets are about $85.00 for repeat fans. The trouble with the tickets.....where do I begin! Last time I checked once you actually get the chance to buy them, you must by 2 or 4. Also you must pay in advance for time trials, Busch, and Nextel. And, you must buy both the spring race in March and the summer race in August. That's 6 events a year all paid in advance. Not cheap. Many of us locals quit going due to price and parking. Bristol is like a cereal bowl. Climbing those bleachers streight up can give you a heart attack. The track itself sits up high on a hill. Bruton Smith put 30,000 more seats up a while back. 160,000 seats total. Every town within a 20 mile radious reaps rewards from the tourist trade. The ticket scalpers got run out of Bristol so now they are here in my town. The track is so high-banked you cant really walk on it without getting down on all fours. The good thing about this track is no matter where you sit, you can see everything all the time. Remind me to tell you about my other tracks, Martinsville, Carolina Speedway, Infeneon(Sears Point), Daytona, and the Brickyard.
