I've been thinking here lately (oh no, that's scary! ~LOL~) that it would be real nice if those of you who are blessed enough to go to a live race would share your experiences with us. We do this on the Nascar.com board that I post on. When someone goes to the race, they must take pictures and tell the "stay at home kids" about it It would be nice is we were to do that here.
Can you believe that your MrsMopar has never been to a live Nascar race? Isn't that sad?!?!?!?! Don't you feel sorry for me!?!?!! So I have to live vicariously through the race fans who get to go to the races.*ques the sad violin music* I have vowed that 2007 is the year that this changes for me! I live about an 8 hour drive (max) from 4 different tracks. (Daytona, Homestead, Atlanta, & Talladega). I just need someone to go with!
Anyhow, if you do go to a live Nascar race, will you please be so kind as to tell us about it? I myself, would love to hear about your race track experiences and/or escapades! And pictures, oh you knows we loves the pics! Even if you go to the local dirt track, or go watch the figure 8's, please do post your stories here. You don't have to be like some kind of ace reporter or anything, simply tell your racin tale!
Thank you very much, I will enjoy them, and I bet others will TOO!

Hey Mrs Mopar... I dunno how much hassle it is but what if we setup another forum with separate headers for each of the different tracks... kinda like the drivers are set up... that way if I wanna go to a track I hadn't been to before, I could look at the experiences and recommendations of others.
That is a good idea H8G, lets see how we get on the responses, this would be a real good idea for next season......You've been to a lot of different race tracks, so maybe you would like to post something about them. We can always move posts around. Think about it, maybe that will give you something to do in the off season.

Okay...well this was my 5th time at Dover and my 9th race, let me tell ya...this was one of the best races I’ve been to in a long time...not that I’ve been to a lot, but you know what I mean... The last 50 laps were GREAT! As you know I'm a Tony fan, so on the way to Dover, I was looking at the top 10 trying to figure out who'd I would like to see win...well since I live in VA, I went for the VA man...Jeff Burton...So needless to say, when Tony wrecked...I was mad, but I figured I root for Jeff B!
I sat in front of another Smoke fan, which made for interesting conversation before the race started...well on lap 6 when Tony mucked up his car, I threw up my hands, and sat down and pouted...lol... the Smoke fan behind me said, well let's root for someone else...I said...well I like Jeff Burton... wouldn’t you know it...HE WON! Kind of funny....
The weather was kind of iffy all morning...stayed in Georgetown, DE, so of course woke up at 415am - I know...turned on the Weather Channel - chance of rain - 60% - I WAS NOT HAPPY. Well we all went (5 of us) to the track, cooked breakfast, cleaned up and sat for a few and it started sprinkling… okay…we just kept talking then we walked around, I bought a new shirt , we found some other things, but I’m sure we can find it cheaper here…anyway, went back, ate lunch, packed our coolers and headed up to our seats…thank goodness we got there early…race time was 130 – they started at 105…
Well while we were watching Jeff B doing his victory lap, we looked over to the casino and it was UGLY! The clouds were DARK! We walked down the millions of stairs, we sat in turn 4, about the 5th row down…anyway, as soon as we walked out the gate, THE BOTTOM DROPPED AND IT RAINED…HARD! So needless to say, I was cold and wet. We sang all the way back to the truck…lol…
Anyway, I took about 363 pictures. If anyone wants to see them, let me know and I can send you the link, it’s on yahoo…3 folders!

Thank you so much ov20fan! I really enjoyed your post, as I am sure others have and will. That is so cool that you started rooting for Jeff Burton and he won! Please send me the link for your pics, you can PM me. And once again thank you for sharing! Too bad that you had to get wet and cold, but you were singing and that is the attitude!

hi there. Well, i just got back home from the Talladega race. We go to every talladega race the last few years. We meaning me, my son hes 6 1/2, my mom and my dad. We took the rv there and it was really great. Igot into it more this time than the other times I've been but im 8 months pregnant so.. it was not as fun and it prolly would have been for most people but it was great still. I'm a dale jr fan so I was really excited until the last lap. That really upset me as did it upset alot of other people. Some people were throwing beers on the track and all kinds of stuff.. It was kinda scarey actually at the end but it just wasnt right what happened, In my opinion. If you watched the replay of that wreck at the end it would just make u madder and madder. But overall the weekend was great. My son is a Tony Stewart fan so he was upset too but not too bad hehe.. We got him a Tony stewart jersey and hat, he really liked that. I will have some pics in a day or so. We also went to the shorttrack races and the truck race but naturally the sunday race is what I really wanted to see. It was so cute seeing my son stand up everytime JR came around and wave his hat sayin " go jr go!" hehe..anyhow..it was a great weekend.
Thank you number8baby for sharing your race experience with us "Stay at Home kids"~LOL~ I am sorry that you and your son had both of your drivers knocked out like that, better luck next Dega race.
So who do your folks pull for? It is great that you are 8 months pregnant and still able to make the race, you go girl!
Thanks a lot for sharing and we hope to "see" you here often!
P.S. Keep us posted on the new baby too! When you due?
