Does any one know why Bootie Barker is in a wheel chair? I think he is a great crew chief, but just wonder what might have put him in that chair

I have been trying to find out why for some time, but can't find anything on it, noot very good at hunting, lol.

Not sure on that one. But he is a great guy and a great crew cheif. That just goes to show you it don`t matter whether you`re handicapped or not, you can still achieve your dream.

I agree, I was just courious. I watch that TV show he is on sometimes and I really like to hear him talk. Smart man.

I had wondered about this myself, he is a very smart man. I googled searched it about 10 months ago.......let me do it again, as i want to give you accurate info. (MrsMopar's memory has a condition called Sometimers, sometimes she remembers and sometimes she doesn't )......OK it was not real easy to find, but I found this:

"Barker has lived nearly half his life without the use of his legs, the result of a car accident during his senior year of high school. Once considered a college football prospect, Barker didn't care much about racing until the accident forced him to find another outlet for his competitive side"

He went on to get an engineering degree in mechanical engineering.

It is a very sad thing in a way, but the young man has made it work for him. And he ain't a bad looking fellow either.
I have the same problem remembering things. It is my senior moments, thank you again fopr the answer. I looked and looked on the net, but could never find anything.

It was not easy information to find for some reason. I finally found it on like page 11 of a google search. It is sad in a way, but I bet he his a greater person for it. God never allows something like that to occur without giving something else in return. Bootie is a cutie and I just love that Virginia accent!

I can not call my lasp of memory a senior moment just yet, as my age does not yet qualify. I know that one day my 'Sometimer' could well develop into 'Alltimers', so I try to exercise my brain every day!
