I watched a interview with stewart, and even though he tried to seem proud of Kyle, I think he believes he is getting left out! You barely here stewarts name anymore, and hardly Dennys either. Its always all about Kyle, and possibly not only his teammates, but posibly everyone is getting alittle upset! Kyle is a good driver, and they all know that, but their are other people out their getting solid top 10s everyweek, but its still about Kyle. My question...why do the winners always get all the credit, and the people who get maybe...a 4th str8 top 10 finish hardly get talked about? Even in the past years...not only the winners, but the others with solid finishes each week were talked about...so what makes Kyle so special? They seem to only focus on the most popular drivers...jr had a horrible season last year with all the blowups, and after signing with hendricks, he was talked about for the rest of year, but Mark signed with hendricks for next year...they are hardly talking about that. So why do they focus on certain drivers more then others?

I think part of Tony is just ready for the year to be over.
Second that. It has been obvious from the beginning of the year Tony is miserable. As for Denny as much as I really don't like him I kind of feel bad for him.
Tony on the other hand will be a force to be reakoned with next year
I do not feel that Tony is upset at all. He as a driver does not need to drive as hard, go for wins or even race for the rest of the '08 year. He wont be with Gibbs in 09 and I think that Smoke has cooled his jets to the point that he's thinking, if I win a race o well, if I can't make this pass 100% clean then I won't attempt to make it. He has no drive and no spirit for the #20 team.
As for Denny, I am sure he does feel left out because he is having great finishes but he's always second best or third best finishing Joe Gibbs car. Is he angry, I don't think so. Disapointed that he can't be the best finishing Joe Gibbs car when he has a top 5 or a good top 10, sure why wouldn't you fel crappy. I know that even he said Kyle would proably assume the role of "Catain" when Tony left, after being asked is he (Denny) ready to take on that ROLE. He really did not seem unhappy that he wouldn't be the "captain". I think Denny just likes to race and he loves his team. He and Kyle just need to get on common ground so they can do 1 &2 finishes togather.
Is it just me or did we see Tony not run for the win yesterday? I'm not saying that he should have wrecked his team mate for the win or driven stupid to get the victory but I didn't tune in to watch a parade, I tuned in to watch a race and we did not get that. I have been a huge Stewart fan for years and he is the last guy I would ever expect to have a shot at a win and not take it. If Tony is content to run second I don't think we need to hear much from him.

read my post I pretty much explained my theory which I have had since he announced his departure.

I don't disagree with that at all, I just wish it wasn't so. When Nascar changed the rules regarding the bonus points for winning races I felt that it was a step in the right direction but not enough. Even if Kyle wins the next four races before the chase he would still not have enough of a head start to negate a bad race and the other drivers in contention seem to be content to race like that will save them. The lack of competitive racing could be the death of this sport, Jimmy Johnson did basically the same thing at Chicago that Tony did at Watkins Glen yesterday. Both of these guys have two titles on their resumes, I have a tough time understanding why they are content to watch Kyle win races they are good enough to run up front in. I'm fans of both drivers but I feel that they are short changing the sport if running second means as much to them as winning. Maybe in both cases they had used their cars up and felt they wouldn't have caught him anyways, even if this is the case I think they owe it to the sport to find out. I think the point bonus for winning a race should be bumped up to fifty. Busch's lead would be pretty much insurmountable if this were the case but I would imagine that would have made it worth enough to some of these drivers to go out and try to win instead of just turning laps and staying out of trouble.

you think the winner should get 50 extra points for each win going into the chase? The chase is to make thinks better and more exciting, and how exciting would that be to start it off with the guy in 1st having a 300 point lead over 2nd place? That is what Kyle would have...with his 8 wins...he would have a huge lead, and it would get boring after awhile.

what about other drivers other then denny and stewart though? What about guys like...David Ragan? He comes out, and has a great season (for him), and yet, he is hardly being talked about.

If a win were worth an extra 40 points over what it is now I don't think that Kyle would have 8 wins. I realize a three hundred point head start would turn the chase into an after thought but I have no interest in seeing a non deserving driver win the championship. This is why I don't like the chase format, it offers no incentive for winning races. I think Kyle Busch is a disgrace to the sport, like his brother, but the guy is driving his ass off this year and as of right now the only thing he is going to have to show for it is a forty point lead over Carl Edwards. Is this really enough incentive to inspire drivers to go all out? I think the racing we have seen so far this year answers that question. I understand why Nascar set up the title format the way they did, they needed teams running the full schedule and did just that. Times have changed now and what they need is better racing. The Chase isn't giving us better racing. None of us are watching to see who can come in second.
