ISC is planning on petitioning Nascar for a second race at Kansas Speedway if the state gaming commission approves a planned development of a casino adjacent to the track. As a citizen of Kansas I have no problem with the casino plan and when the track was built I was excited at the prospect being able to drive to a race in less than three hours. My first trip to the track was for a truck race back in '03 and I am sad to say it will be my last. The track is a poorly designed joke. The next time they have a competitive race there will be the first and the security staff working the race were needlessly rude and the concession prices were ridiculously high. I have not gone back to the track since that day but I have several friends that go to the Cup and IRL races every year and they tell me that nothing has changed. I still go to at least one of the Texas races each year and I have never been disappointed, even when racing isn't that good. Maybe some of you have had a better experience at Kansas Speedway than I did, even if that is the case does anyone really want to see two races a year from Kansas?

ugh Kansas! I don't vote for that!

I would love a 2nd race at kansas...that is by far the closest race track to me, and only been their once during a bush race, and it didnt seem to bother me any. Racing is racing, and if they were "mean and rude", then just ignore them and watch a great race. They were also goin to try to put a hard rock cafe around turn to, and put a huge swimming pool in the middle.

lets just give every race on the schedule 2 races a year so that the season is 44 weeks of course then they'll want 3rd races

Kansas Speedway says it will seek a
second NASCAR Sprint Cup series race if it gets a contract for a
state-owned casino in Wyandotte County.

The speedway and the Cordish Company formed Kansas
Entertainment, which is among four applicants seeking the
management contract.

The speedway announced its proposal today as the state casino
review board began public hearings in Kansas City. The board will
decide next month who gets the single contract.

The proposed Hard Rock Hotel and Casino would have 3,000 slot
machines and a 300-room hotel on the speedway grounds overlooking
the track's Turn 2.

A law enacted last year also allows a casino in Cherokee, Ford
and Sumner counties.

Good article...and I dont have a prob with what he is saying. he isnt against the track in general...he is against adding an extra race to any track. And I agree...why not just get rid of ever double...except for daytona...talledega...lowes...and maybe some others thart are exciting and attract fans. Michiga dont need 2...Cali dont either (not sure if that has 2). How bout 4 road courses...that wold be exciting.

Yes I have a dover bias i like dover and yeah i removed california from the schedule i can't stand that track i also added 2 road courses some nationwide tracks and old cup tracks
