NASCAR Pick 3 Challenge
It kinda/sorta goes along with the "Pick Your Top Three" that we already do, but here it is (and its all handled on the forum).
You just pick 3 drivers, and mark one of them as your winner. You could go for the top 3 or go for consistency. Whatever you choose. The driver's finishing position correlates to the amount of points they get.
In example...
1st - 43
2nd - 42
3rd - 41
4th - 40
5th - 39
...........
39th - 5
40th - 4
41st - 3
42nd - 2
43rd - 1
If you pick a driver who does not qualify, you will get at least 1 point for that driver.
Bonus points are available. A Driver gets 5 points for leading the most laps, 5 for leading a lap, and if you marked the winning driver as your winner, you get an extra 10 points. If you pick the polesitter, you get an extra 5 points as well. Here's an example:
My "picks" for Phoenix:
Jeff Gordon - Winner (43 + 5 [leading a lap] + 5 [polesitter] + 10 [winning driver picked as winner] = 63 points
Tony Stewart (42 + 5 [leading most laps] + 5 [leading a lap] = 52)
Matt Kenseth (41 + 5 [leading a lap] = 46)
Pack Rat 24's weekly total: 151
Picks in before qualifying are elgible for the pole bonus, but picks can be submitted all the way up until an hour before the race. Deadlines will be posted in each thread each week.
I will also offer up some prizes in the form of vbux. If you have the highest point total for a race, you will get 1,000 vbux (split if there is a tie). Also, so people can catch back up if they enter later on in the season, the season will be broken up into quarters with an overall points total and quarterly points. Quarterly points total winners will get a 5,000 vbux prize (if there is a tie, decided by who picked the winner as their winner more often. If still tied, the prize will be split). The overall end-of-season winner will win 20,000 vbux (if there is a tie, decided by who picked the winner as their winner more often. If still tied, the prize will be split).
If you guys are interested in doing this, just post your three drivers for Talladega here. You can go for the top 3 or sgo for consistency. The choice is yours.
Also, if there are any questions, feel free to ask them here.
Thanks!
