Exclamation Talladega Superspeedway, RV Overnight Parking Spots Sold Out

RV Overnight Parking Spots Sold Out For April 27-29 Aaron’s Dream Weekend
Limited Auto/Tent Overnight Spots and FREE Areas Remain
Talladega Superspeedway, Press Release

TALLADEGA, Ala. – All RV overnight parking spots have been sold, and only a limited amount of spots for automobiles/tents remain for the upcoming Aaron’s Dream Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway April 27-29, Talladega Superspeedway officials announced today. The track’s hundreds of acres of reserved overnight parks outside the track are completely filled, and the only reserved spots remaining in the 212-acre infield are within the Yellow Zone which is specifically designated for those planning to park overnight with automobiles and tents.
All reserved overnight parks outside the speedway will not open until Tuesday morning of race week, a new policy for 2007. This will include the FREE overnight parks that have typically opened the weekend prior to the race.

“We are thrilled that our overnight parks continue to sell out earlier and earlier every race,” said Talladega Superspeedway Vice President and General Manager Rick Humphrey. “With the addition of the new Champion’s Corner and the expansion of some of our current areas, the interest has continued to grow and we try every year to answer the call of our fans by offering more areas of accommodation.”

The Yellow Zone is located off of Talladega Boulevard close to the northern portion of the Infield. Three-day passes for both zones are $285 and two-day passes are $245, with the passes including two infield admission tickets per spot.

Talladega Superspeedway has hundreds of acres of FREE overnight parks including North Park, West Park C and Family Park. Spaces in these parks are on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be accessed only with a ticket to the event.

Those who have already reserved spots in the track’s overnight parks should make note of the policies and times below:

· NEW FOR 2007! - All overnight parks outside the track will open on Tuesday of race week. No one will be admitted prior to Tuesday in any of the reserved or FREE overnight park areas.

· Grandstand Gates and Day Parking Lots will not be open Thursday, April 26, however media covering NASCAR Busch Series practice will be admitted.

· Line-up for infield parking begins at 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 25 in the staging area near Gate V9.

· Entry for Front Runners Clubs, Talladega and Eastaboga Blvds. begins at 6 a.m. Thursday morning. Red and Green Zone Guests may enter at this time for an additional $10.

· Entry for Red and Green Zones, as well as three-day Blue and Yellow Zone guests may begin entering Thursday night at approximately 6 p.m.

Great seats still remain for the first race weekend at NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track. Two-day Talladega Tower seats offering a spectacular view of the start/finish line are $135 and Allison Grandstand Seats along the track’s sweeping superstretch are only $60. Two-day tickets are an even greater value than ever, as they grant admission to The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Busch Series race on Saturday, April 28, then the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race on Sunday, April 29.

Seats for Friday, April 27 are $15 for adults, and grant admission to The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Busch Series and two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series practices. Kids age 11 and younger are admitted free of charge in the general admission grandstands on Friday and Saturday when accompanied by a paying adult.

Talking Talladega Grand Marshal: Jeff Foxworthy

Talladega Superspeedway officials announced today that Jeff Foxworthy, host of the hit show, “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader,” will serve as the Grand Marshal of the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race set for Sunday, April 29 (1:30 pm ET on Fox).

“We are happy to welcome Jeff Foxworthy to Talladega Superspeedway,” said speedway Vice President and General Manager Rick Humphrey. “We are excited to have someone as entertaining as he is participating in our pre-race festivities and feel certain our fans will love him.”

The comedian, actor and game show host is perhaps best known as a stand-up comedian and is currently hosting the new hit FOX show “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader.” He is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best selling author of more than 22 books.

A native of Atlanta, Ga., Foxworthy is as influential in his private affairs as the performances he gives. He has an interest in the Duke University Children’s Hospital in Durham, N.C. and is the Honorary Chairman of the Duke Children’s Classic Golf Tournament. The invitation to serve as Grand Marshal of the Aaron’s 499 came from race sponsor, Aaron’s Sales and Lease Ownership, which is headquartered in Atlanta.

“Aaron’s has had the honor of hosting several big-time Hollywood stars here over the last few years” stated Ken Butler, President of Aaron’s Sales and Lease Ownership, “but there is no one more popular right now than Jeff Foxworthy. His brand of down-home humor relates well to our customers and to NASCAR fans, and I think the crowd at Talladega will give him a warm reception. We are thrilled that he can join us to start-up one of Aaron’s greatest events of the year, the Aaron’s 499.”
