I have nothing personally against you Shimsham, bot calling people names to try and win an argument doesn''t prove anything, and shows you have no reply to the truth..
Uhh.. I didn't specifically call anyone a racist. But I did point out that some people who are opposed to Toyota are motivated by a racist attitude. That's not name calling, that's pointing out what's there. I realize not everyone who is opposed to Toyota is a racist or whatever, but I'm saying that it's out there.

No, when people say, "I don't want the damn japs in NASCAR" they're called racist. When people are in the interest of promoting the US, they are called pro-Americans. There's a difference between being racist and patriotic.

Here is the thing...
We all can accept buying lose junk that is imported, even expensive TV's, but when we sell out to Japan in buying autos, we are selling out our biggest money spending.. What I mean is Americans spend more on Car payments than anything else except maybe house payments..
So you're saying it's okay to spend the majority of an overall income on lots of little imports, but not on big-ticket imports? Look at average annual income, you're kidding yourself if you think families spend most of their annual income on car payments.

Exactly. We live in a world that's quickly becoming more globalized. So many corporations around the world are now multinational, and are heavily invested in foreign companies.

A billion excuses I hear all the time.
Don't act like you know me. Because I'll flat out tell you, that you're just wrong.
1. I don't hate America, I never even came close to saying that, and for you to assume I do is just stupid.
2. Personal experiences with other people aren't exactly a good basis for argument.

See, this is an example of what I was talking about early in the post.

Yes, "slave labor" is the reason Toyota was successful at Daytona. It had nothing to do with the fact that teams have had more time with the engines and Gibbs brought his team into the mix which brought even more resources to the table. No, it was the Japanese slave labor... right.

There's a very clear difference between being patriotic and being a racist. You know that as well as everyone else.
What the @$#% is going on in this forum lately ever thread I look at is getting this way
I guess now I,m a redneck/slave owning/racist who Loves His Country and NASCAR???
That makes two of us flflash47!
We must be racist, we're rednecks, we love Country Music and we stand up for our boys who are fighting a trumpted up war started by our government!
Have you noticed that the ones that bring racism into topics are the ones that blame their entire misfortune or flat out laziness on racism?
Y'all might want to read today's NA$CAR release, NASCAR targets core fan base, before y'all start preaching about the great "New" NA$CAR. Get a grip, NA$CAR is losing fans!
And Yes, ShimSham, you did call us racist, your statement verbatim was "My problem is that most of the Anti-Toyota people are just flat out racist." Care to retract YOUR racist remark sir?
I am so sick of this racist double standard!

No, I really didn't call anyone here a racist. I should have clarified by saying that most, of the anti-Toyota people that I have personally come into contact with are motivated by racist attitudes.
I simply stated that it was out there; that it was a viewpoint. I did not say that all people who were opposed to Toyota were racists or something crazy like that. Just that some were. It's out there.
So no, I'm not retracting my statement. I know some people don't want Toyotas in the sport because of purely racist idealogies. Again, not all, but some, that's all I said.

I've always loved nascar and always will. I almost quit watching after Earnhardt's death but I gave the sport another chance and have continued to watch. The problem with nascar is not that Toyota is in it, but that nascar is so afraid of another big star fatal crash that they've dumbed down the sport. It's a shame that a lot of the older fans are walking away but s*** happens. If any of you want to see something messed up just look at how many deaths there have been in F1 , CART, IRL, over the years compared to Nascar, and one wreck in particular, go to youtube and look for Tom Pryce fatal crash. There are 2 angles watch both but look for the view from the rear of the car. This video shows what happens to a human when hit at 180mph. Well I'm gonna go smoke my hookah.
I don't think the safety precautions that have put in since Dale's death have really hurt the sport though. In my opinion it's made the sport safer for drivers, and has been able to retain the same aspects that were present before Dale's death.
Off the top of my head, since Dale's death, for safety they've added...
- Hans device being mandatory
- Closed face helmets being mandatory
- Safer barriers on parts of the walls at some tracks
- The Lucky Dog rule.
I don't think any of those have hurt the sport really. But they've all made it safer for drivers and medics.
I mean, you might be talking about different aspects of how NASCAR has changed since Dale died. but just from that perspective, I don't think it's changed much.

Some of the changes you mentioned are great things for the sport. Such as the safer barriers, hans device, and closed face helmets. I don't like the lucky dog rule. But I don't want people racing back to the line either(don't get me wrong some of the best racing was back to the line), but the lucky dog rule is kind of boring. Anyway, I was just trying to say that some of these rule changes is what makes the older racing fans walk away. They liked the sport when it was as dangerous as F1. And while it was fun to watch, I don't like hearing about guys getting killed because of what they love to do.
Japanese don't but American autos because they can't. Our emissions are deemed to be unsafe to be sold in China, Japan etc, etc.
And all this patriotic stuff is ********. Move on with your life. There is more to the world then just "America" Thats why I dislike people like you, you give us REAL Americans a bad wrap. Your everything thats wrong with America today. A majority of us are stuck up, hard headed ******. We think the world revolves around us and has no care for everyone else. Well guess what, the world doesn't revolve around us. And in 5-10 years we won't be this "super power" Because eventually, our idiotic spending habits, the war and our inability to sufficently lower our pollution emissions will lead to our eventual demise.
Sorry, but I had a lot to get off my chest as a proud, blood in blood out Texan.
No one is claimming we are the center of the universe, I believe the Chines think this.. no one said her America is the center ofthe world.. most Americans like me, do not HATE others, just want to help outselfs like ALL other nations do..
Yet, we have liberals in this country who think we should sacrifice our HARD working money to give to others around the world...
Lets goive Africa another few billion dollars so they can sit back and have sex and NOT work, while we SALVE away for them..
America is made of hard working people, we had to work hard and fight for the freedomes we have... or our for fathers did... blood sweat and tears..
Now the rest of the low income comunist control freak world wants a piece of it....
look at all these countries.. they are starving to death, because they want to sit back and not plant food or work.. we give them billions in equipment, tech to grow food,,, yet they starve..
Yet, We (our forefathers) come over here, 400 years ago on wooden ships with a few seeds and florished... because we put back, work hard, grow food..
ni high tech equipment either.
life is about working, and planning ahead..
people like your self are so ani-american is makes ones head spin, to call us self centered for wanting to take care of the people in our own nation first is behond me.
China will take over, I hate to agree with you, we are fueling thier economy..
it's people like you who FEEL sorry for the other nations who help make laws to ease so called "free trade" routes..
They but hardly nothing from us, and be buy a million times more from them than they do un.. same with Japan or mexico.. for every dollar they spend buying frpom us, we spend $500.
