they tested here before with this car and didn't hear of this happening.I would say Goodyear made the wrong choice again.

they use diamond wheels to cut the track.. to give the drivers a better feel for the track..lol boob move goes to the georges(own brickyard and half of indiana)
usually the tires get better as the rubber builds up...I'd be asking who was messing up the track, but ultimately it falls on the george family... they own it and authorized it.

i dont know what the problem was, but it definitely took away from some of the excitement. The thing that i thought was odd was NASCAR's decision to wait to have the last caution with ten to go instead of 13 to go to set up a 10 lap shoot out. still a decent finish though.
I'd have to say it's a combo of the tire and COT. Much more down force on this car than the old.
Honcho....Help! I'm confused (not a surprise...I know. lol, lol) But, I could have sworn that they said that they have not run the COT on this track with this tire? When did they test the COT at indy? Thxs
yes, they did test, but only with three cars. They normally have a full test session but decided this year not too, so the blame goes to Nascar officials for not allowing adequate testing at Indy before the race. For one of the biggest races of the year to go down that way was pretty absurd.
Way to go Nascar, screwing up the Brickyard!

^^^Yep! Goodyear held tire tests to see which combination felt good to the drivers. They felt the tire wear would get better as the race weekend progressed. Nascar's fault they dint have test sessions for the entire field. Goodyears fault the tire rubber was coming off as a powder insted of bulding up on the track as it normally does. It was pretty much an EPIC FAIL by both Nascar, and Goodyear!
