Am I the only one who was extremely bored by the lack of 'race appeal' that the COT has? You no longer see the front end lifting off the ground. You don't see the sudden increase of space between the front tire & the fender.

You don't see a twitchy, suddenly out of control looking race car anymore. You don't see the front end diving under hard braking....

In my opinion (not speaking about the appearance of the car) the COT's race appeal is very weak & I think it has shown in the ratings. Notice how the Texas TV ratings were the first good news in the ratings department in a few weeks. Coincidence or not?

I believe Nascar has some major tweaking to do to make the COT a 'race appealing' car. It looks stiff & solid as a brick. It no longer displays the element of speed & being on the edge of control.

I sure hope Nascar wakes up. Atleast we still have the Trucks & Busch series...

Interesting perspective. I hadn't considered it and will look for that next week in Phoenix. I'm not sure to what extent that has affected ratings but I will offer that the week off likely did as much for the rebound as anything. NASCAR fans as much as anyone tend to go into withdrawal when they miss some time. Raceday is like church to so many... you can't go without it

I have to disagree and stand up for the COT oh crap did I say that out loud?
Watch this Saturdays night race at Phoenix! the speed and layout of that track will show what the evening out of $$$$$ spent on "aero-handling" will do for a Race much more than Bristol or Martinsville did. Think back on how many Bristol/Martinsville race winning cars basicly had the body beat of the frame and still Won. Phoenix will be a whole differant ballgame.
