Okay, we have seen some ups, and some downs for the open wheelers that are attempting to make a name in NASCAR's elite series as rookies. Sam Hornish Jr., who looked great at Daytona, but had some misfortune at California. Not really of his doing. Dario Franchitti, who has been in both races, but really hasn't done much. Patrick Carpentier, who has missed the first two races, but the second was because of rain, and well, Daytona is Daytona. Lets just use these three as examples, who do you feel will have the best season, maybe even a great season?

I am going with Sam Hornish Jr. Great Penske team, great sponsors, already has the points.....no brainer for me. What do you think?

I think it's way too early to tell. One of those guys hasn't even seen the track in real race conditions yet.

Yeah, Hornish looks the best right now because he has points. But the only reason he does is because he's racing with Kurt Busch's points from last year. That's why he's not having to qualify on time and Kurt Busch is, and Busch can always use a Championship Provisional if he can't qualify on time.

I think a more fair assessment could be made once each driver has 8-10 races to show.

got to say hornish not rally fair since Carpantier hasn't made a race until Vegas and his top 20 even with his crash a california which was not his fault out weighs Darios 2 30ths

all three have the talent.they just lack experience.sam hornish looks the best at the moment.but he is in the best team out of the rookies.and his background is in oval racing unlike franchitti and carpentier whose backgrounds are in road racing.the ganassi team seems to be struggling as a whole which isn't helping franchitti

Although it is to early to decide I will go with Sam Hornish Jr. Maybe if Carpentier made more races we could really see what he is made of. Ask this question again at the end of the season the answers may change.
