Well I guess my timing was perfect with AJ getting the boot(they say temporary but I doubt that) but I don't know why they thing Skinner will do any better.

Skinner Replaces Allmendinger Temporarily
By CSD Staff, March 4

Red Bull Racing pulled A.J. Allmendinger from the No. 84 Toyota Monday, replacing him temporarily with Craftsman Truck Series champion Mike Skinner.

"We're at a crossroads where we need to make a change that will elevate the No. 84 team to success," Frye said. "AJ's our guy and he's a talented driver, but there's a lot being asked of him. In order for him to be successful, we have to get this team pointed in the right direction."

Allmendinger failed to qualify for Sunday's UAW Dodge 400 at Las Vegas, making him 0-for-3 on the season.

With his teammate Brian Vickers sitting 13th in points, Allmendinger knows something drastic had to be done to get his No. 84 team going.

"Let's not kid ourselves; I'm a racer and I want to be racing, but I get the big picture here and obviously we need to improve our program," he said in a team release.

"Do I want to be out of the car? No. But, I know Skinner can help both me and my team."

This is the second substitution for Skinner in as many weeks after he took over from Jacques Villeneuve in the No. 27 Bill Davis Racing Toyota after he failed to qualify for the Daytona 500

Well, A. J. hasn't officially been let go, and I doubt he is. I think they are trying to evaluate the car, and set ups. Mike Skinner is a good driver in the Truck Series. The new Cup cars are very similar set up wise the the Trucks. I think that he (Mike Skinner) will be able to offer a lot of tech help from a drivers standpoint to Red Bull Racing. A. J. just doesn't have the knowledge that Skinner has when it comes to experience in race cars similar to these. I really think Red Bull wants to keep A. J., but they want to do anything possible to get that car competitive. I think we will see A. J. back in the car soon. But, I may be wrong. These are the kind of situations were you just can't tell, and the owners pretty much always have nothing negative to say to the media, and we really don't know the truth until the driver is fired. A. J. will get a ride if he is fired though. A lot of folks are pretty impressed with him, and I know he was being recruited late last season. His career may be better off elsewere anyway.
