you gotta be kidding!!!!

Sunoco still not happy: Sunoco is still upset about Shell's move into this sport (in which Sunoco is paying NASCAR for "official fuel" sponsorship rights) and is considering legal action against Shell to force it to take down all those Kevin Harvick banners at its 15,000 service stations.(Winston Salem Journal), Pennzoil/Shell sponsor's Harvick's #29 Richard Childress Chevy.(source: Winston Salem Journal)(3-18-2007)

these sponsors.... official sponsors of nascar... sunoco/nextel are out of their heads!!!! gonna kill off all interest by any potential sponsors... there by killing nascar.... unbelievable... someone better put them in check!

I believe AT&T is taking legal action about Burton's sponsorship.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html

Here is the article from SI.com

I understand Sprint and Sunoco's position. If I were them I would try to do the same thing. However, NASCAR should know better. It seems like they are competing with teams for sponsorship.

Honestly, this borders on ridiculous.

This sponsor thing is going way too far. All these sponsors need to come to some sort of agreement.

I dont recall Bud wanting to sue Miller or vice versa. Maybe all these other "sue" happy sponsors should have a BUD or MILLER and just get along.

That is because they are competitors and sponsors of teams, whereas
Shell and Nextel/Sprint are the primary $ponsor$ or the money men of the whole series which is where this problem lies. They don't wan't their competitors taking up valuable
airtime, thus taking away revenue from them.

Personally I don't think NASCAR should allow this as it is going to harm our sport. Potential sponsors are going to shy away from sponsoring individual teams because they will be afraid it make cause a conflict.

I think the whole stinking thing is ridiculous. A sponsor is just that a sponsor for a car. What hurts our sport is lack of sponsor ship, NASCAR needs to quite counting their $ and let the sponsors sponsor.
