Post Patrick Carpentier BIO

I didn't see a topic for him so I will post it here unless someone can tell me were it is LOL

Birthday: Aug. 13, 1971
Hometown: Joliette, Quebec, Canada

Patrick Carpentier, a Quebec native and former open wheel stand out, will drive the No. 10 Dodge Charger in the Sprint Cup as well as a part time NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule for Gillett Evernham Motorsports. Carpentier's accomplishments outside of NASCAR include two Champ Car World Series wins, three CART victories, and a Toyota Atlantic Championship.
In 2007 Carpentier turned heads by qualifying on the pole for his first ever NASCAR race, the first NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. He went on to lead 14 laps of the event and finish an extremely impressive second in that race. The effort caught the eye of the Gillett Evernham Motorsports organization which gave Carpentier the opportunity the following week to make his first start in the Sprint Cup Series, driving the No. 10 Valvoline/Stanley Tools Dodge at Watkins Glen subbing for Scott Riggs. Again Carpentier was impressive finishing 22nd and leading seven laps (the only laps led by the No. 10 team that season) in front of a hard charging Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.
In October of 2007, Patrick Carpentier was announced as the driver in front of media and fans on the ice at a Montreal Canadiens game (a team owned by the Gillett family) at the Bell Centre. To prepare for 2008, Carpentier started the final two races of the 2007 Sprint Cup Season. Faced with the daunting task of qualifying his way into a Sprint Cup race (which was also his first ever NASCAR oval start in the No. 10 car) without a guaranteed starting spot within the top-35 in owner's points, Carpentier was again impressive. Not only did he make the Sprint Cup race at Phoenix, but he went on the next week to qualify for the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup races at the season finale in Homestead. Heading into 2008, Carpentier very well may have the fastest moving career in NASCAR. Each challenging opportunity that has been laid before him, Carpentier has risen to the occasion and exceeded expectations. Carpentier's rapport with fans, competitors, and media has earned him quick acceptance in the world of NASCAR.
