Gordon fined $10,000

Ten Grand. Ouch! I get the fact that the confrontation was aired on national t.v. and all that, but come on! I see worse things on Nickelodeon! Nascar.com said this is the first time in Jeff's Cup career that he has been fined for his conduct.
Kevin Manion,(#1 crew cheif) was not fined for the s-bomb. Fox took responsibility and said it was an equipment malfunction. A complaint was made to the FCC for Fox airing the naughty word.
What do ya'll think? People complain that their children are watching, and shouldn't have to change the channel because there is something innapropriate on. I have kids, and while I try to keep my language clean in front of them, things slip once in a while. I say if you don't like it, watch something else!

Manion (#1 crew chief) was not being interviewed by a camera crew when he said the S-word(aka Jr). He had no idea they had it on television. The question is why doesn't Fox use a delay? That would have solved the whole thing. I believe Nascar had to fine Gordon for his actions, because they have fined others for silly little things.

It is true that Nascar has to be consistant in these things, or they will get all sorts of crap for it. I think it's just too bad they have set that precedent. Not much they can do about it now I guess.
As for Fox, and the 5 second delay, on Nascar.com it reads:
"FOX Sports does not air live NASCAR broadcasts on a five-second delay as NBC instituted following Earnhardt's slip in 2004. FOX officials said there are no plans to change that policy, although it constantly is being reviewed."

Exclamation Gordon shows true self

Jeff Gordon says he was more concerned about how others felt early in his career and held back his emotions. He now says he is showing the truer picture of himself. How macho does he think he appears when he pushes someone coming to apologize to him WITH HIS HELMET ON!!!!!!

When is the last time you saw someone get out of his car without removing his helmet. Big bad Gordon, the true macho man he is, belongs in the WWF not the cup series.

Lol. Not a Gordon fan, huh? Well, he may be a wuss, but he ain't stupid! He didn't want to get his butt kicked.
I wonder if we really will see a different Jeff from now on. That would be kinda refreshing. Who knows? Time will tell.

+1 A guy is calmly walking up to you, and you run up and push him. Wearing your helmet, gloves, everything. Honestly, if Gordon wanted a fight.. he would've taken off his helmet and swung that at him. Makes more sense to me atleast.

I think that's the thing, Gordon didn't want a fight. He just wanted to get a good push in...he knew someone would break it up. Macho man!

Thumbs down Gordons Limp Shove...

Real men dont instigate with gloves and helmets on! Makes you think??? I'm not a Gordon fan; however this will fuel the fans disdain for him. Kenseth has been quite calm lately, I give him credit for being a sportsman.

I agree....Matt did what a man would do, albeit a bit too soon after the fact, but Jeff did what a wuss would do. I am not a Gordon fan, or a Gordon hater, I don't care enough about him either way, but he did show that he was afraid (even if he was mad), even though he tried to be all tough.
