Just read this morning on Jayski's that Robby Gordon bought RYR, this includes the #38 & #88 cup teams as well as the #90 Busch team. The engine program that Yates and Rousch have was not included in the deal. I have never been on this site before, how reputable is ths site? I do not understand, Robby races Chevy, Yates races Ford. Ford and Robby do not get along. I have never seen Yates race anything but Ford.

The Jayski site is usually pretty good, although sometimes they have mis-information, which I believe that is what this is. Why, why, why, can't you find mention of this on any other site, God knows I've been checking for more info on this all morning, nobody has it or even mentions it, I went to the link that it was "supposedly" said, and I listened to the broadcast and didn't hear it mentioned, was going to replay it in case I missed it somehow, when I tried to replay it the site was down and it's still is down. There's NO WAY in the world that Robert is going to sell his teams. Even if it was actually true, I don't believe that Robbie has enough money to buy them. I believe it's a bogus rumor, there's no mention of it on any other site, Yates, Robbie's, Nascar, Sporting news, that's Racin', etc. I believe somebody got their wires twisted, Robbie will be driving the #88 Busch car and then all hell broke lose in somebodies head and now we have Robert selling his teams to Robbie, I truly think it's all blown out of proportion.

Robby buying RYR? UPDATE Denied: The LTN Radio Network has learned that Robby Gordon has purchased Robert Yates Racing, #88 and #38 Cup teams and #90 Busch Series team to be effective this week. The Yates-Roush engine program is not included in the sale. No word on the status of the contracts between RYR and sponsors M&M/Mars and Citifinancial, and how they will be affected by the sale.(LTN Radio Network), if this is true... UPDATE: a representative from Robert Yates Racing says this is NOT True and will not happen, denying that Yates is selling to Robby Gordon.(8-15-2006)
The orginal Jayski article with update. The LTN server is still down as I write this. I was pretty sure that is wasn't true, if it were true, then it would mean 2 things: 1.Robert just rolled over and gave up!! There's no way that is going to happen, Robert doesn't give up. 2.I would be done watching NASCAR, I think Robert is great, and if he wasn't in it anymore there would be no reason for me to continue to watch racing. After Davey left us, I didn't think I'd still watch racing, but then I still had Robert's teams to watch and that is the sole reason that I'm still watching races.
Are you taking your pills, TeamYates! If this turns out to be true it will be amazing, it seems to be bordering on ridiculous. I saw the article on Jayski too, wonder where his source was, desert! I love Jayski though, no matter what he puts on there! Hey, just like Tony! I love him no matter what! Okay sorry...back to Yates.

Yeah, I'm still taking my pills, but I knew that it couldn't even remotely be true. Yates just doesn't roll over.
Was listening to XM Radio yesterday and the first thing I heard on Clair B. Lang's show was an interview with John Story, CEO of RGM. He said straight up that this was just a terrible, almost humorous rumor. They have talked to some teams and others have approached them about enlarging their team but nothing has come about it. RGM is trying to have at least one full time Busch team next year. All other growth might take a little longer. There was no way Yates would just let everything go. He might be going through some hard times right now but this nothing compared to what he has gone through in the past (Davey & Ernie). So everybody can just take a deep breath, nothing crazy is happening.
John Story, general manager of Robby Gordon Motorsports, denied a rumor circulating Tuesday that Gordon had purchased Robert Yates Racing.
Story did say that Gordon's team is talking to other teams, including the Yates team, about aligning resources to compete against multicar operations.
"We have spoken to a number of organizations," Story said.
"In today's NASCAR, great people and multiple teams are two of the requirements needed to win a championship and there are really only two ways for us to get there.
"The first is to find additional marketing partners for a second, third and fourth car, and the other is to align with another team that is interested in the same opportunities."
I am wondering if maybe the fact that Robby Gordon is driving the 88 Busch car for Jr Motorsports is the reason for this rumor to take wings!
