RULES CHANGE NOTIFICATION
#1997-24-0002
In an effort to enhance the art of motorsport racing and give someone
else a chance at the WINSTON CUP CHAMPIONSHIP, the governing body of
NASCAR is enacting rule change #1997-24-0002, also known as:
"CHEVY PARTY RULE", which states:
1 Regardless of qualifying speeds, all Chevys must start 10 laps down.
2 CHEVY drivers must be blindfolded, with one (1) arm tied behind back.
3 CHEVYS must use 87 octane fuel and have four (4) flat tires,
preferably Hoosiers.
4 CHEVYS shall operate in one gear-REVERSE.
5 CHEVYS shall carry two (2) passengers, preferably Sumo Wrestlers.
6 During pit stops CHEVY crews are only allowed one man over the wall.
7 Geoff Bodine shall be allowed to bump any car off the track as he
deems necessary to get to the front.
8 Rusty Wallace shall be allowed to change cars when he blows engines
or suffers any other damage, and other racers MUST STOP and WAIT so
Rusty may reenter the race in first place.
9 DITTO Mark Martin.
10 Bill Elliot shall be allowed to run without a restrictor plate.
THESE RULES SHALL TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY AND MAY BE AMENDED AS NECESSARY
