Yes they also get the first pick at their pit road spot, which can really be a big factor at a lot of tracks!!
Mrs Ryan, I would have thought you would be all for points because of the Rocket Man! And I think so too, re: pit selection, they can choose the 1st one which I think is the best one.
Well since the 12 team is not focusing so much this season on the qualifying set-ups as they are the race set-ups, I kinda don't care. But I am in favor of giving 5 points for the pole position, like they do for leading a lap. That way it is not a big deal, but it is an acknowledgement and we all know that sometimes the bonus points can add up to really help a driver!

Well, the pole should be worth something, all it is worth is starting 1st and driving in the Bud Shootout, which some people are already qualified for the Bud Shootout, but they should be since they are a past NASCAR Champion, but it is a long race. But I don't think you should give them points for the pole.

i totally agree.. makes the pole that much more important.. but newman would have won the cup last year if these rules were in place
