Secondhand smoke leads to all kinds of deseases and even premature deaths in children as well as adults, I know this because I read it sometime back. should I get lung cancer to indulge your need to smoke?
We are force to inhaled something our body dont want!! Now what's wrong with that picture?
If you want to smoke..lock yourself in your room and kill yourself smoothly as they say. Dont take others with you.
And as far as drinking..I just felt saying that because of how brilliant those people that drink and get wasted while watching a race act. If you cant control your drinking then try not to drink at all.

first let me say I have never smoked...if I am smoking get a bucket a water and throw it on me cause I am on fire! I am somewhat suprised that we are allowing government in our business like this. go live in Iraq? really? we will be the next Iraq if we keep going like this... personal liberties are what our country was founded on.. freedoms... now we have lots of dumb@$$ out there who violate the rights of others..for years smokers violated the non smokers... and now it is swinging the other way.. no alcohol reck? I am shocked...what would junior johnson say? Nascar origins are from the whiskey runners... and then the winston cup? cigarettes sponsored nascar when nobody else would.. you know they are after fatty fast foods next... no more Mcd's ? then what? we have a smoking ban here as well, but it is getting out of hand... we keep taking freedoms from ourselves...not what our country was founded on..not what are sport was founded on.. next nascar will be shut down for noise pollution? is that the America you really want? yes it is easy to support these restrictions when then favor our opinion, but it is still wrong... you do know they are selling medical marijuana in vending machines in california? tell me what is wrong with that picture? cannot smoke legal cigarettes in public, but you can smoke dope? legalization only for taxation... bet on it... when you go to a bar you should expect smoke... that is just the way life is... question everything... and give back nothing...especially your rights. political correctness and too much government in our lives is not a good thing... use your heads people! oh well the screwed up bristol anyhow.. no desire to go there anymore. ugh... thanks for the nomination... but not a very presidential type... not politically correct at all.. so many laws limiting our freedoms.. gun laws too... just wait... big brother is probably coming for me as we speak... if I disappear it is because I demand the freedoms the our constitution allows us...

I apprciate what you have to say and agree with alot of it, however I still feel that smoking restrictions are a good thing. Maybe not to the extent that all the seating at Bristol or other tracks are non-smoking area's, but perhaps parts of it could be, so people that wish to sit in a smoke free zone can do so. That way people that wish to smoke and also don't wish to smoke can attend a race quite happily together! Maybe some compromise is needed from both sides, to try and keep everyone happy.

Okay, I think BigE has a very good point. He has made us all think about it I think. It has made me think....
This is my current statement on this subject....
I feel that none of us should have any of our rights taken away. I don't want to lose my guns, cars, ability to drink or smoke if I choose....etc....
I also feel as if I don't want to smoke second hand smoke at the races or anywhere for that matter. If I go to a bar, I expect smoke...but in Ohio, you can't smoke in any public place anymore. Maybe we should all think about how tough this is of a subject.....
Maybe they should have smoking areas just outside of all the seats, I don't know.....
I don't like the slippery slope things like this cause, but I don't want cigerette smoke around me and my family as well when we go to the races. I also don't want to sit in the backstrech in the ''family'' section. Usually those seats aren't as nice.
I think this subject is probably one that will lead to people getting angry and it is just not worth it. We are all here for the love of NASCAR, not to talk about cigerette smoke....so, I am done with this topic.

don't get me wrong guys... I don't smoke...I just don't like someone telling me i cannot do it if i want to... seems crazy when they sell pot out of vending machines! Some bureaucrat wants to deprive us of our rights.. I like how tracks and many sporting arenas have "family zones" I think it is great they do that...although the seating in those areas is sub-prime..lol it is a start..here in illinois our governor..wanted more gun control...banning laws... one in the northeast wants to eliminate obesity by banning fast foods.. I understand the financial implications for the banning.. but like you should ask? what is next? cars because we have accidents that kill and mame peeps.. they want to increase the minimum driving age here from 16 to 18..because alot of kids are getting killed in cars... they have a lack of experience and mom and dad buys the darn kid a 5.0 mustang as their first car! kids will be banned from school because of unsafe schools? ( guns and drugs)... we once had a famous writer ..wrote about common sense... that is what we need again...not more laws... not more big brother looking over our shoulders... ... but coop... i am ready.... let's go racing!
