Manufacturer's.

Quick Question. I realise that the cars used today for the racing are far from stock. But I was wondering how much of the car's are produced by either Chevy, Ford etc? The hood, roof and trunk lid as well as the bumpers I think, are stock NASCAR parts, and alot of the sheet metal body work is fabricated by the teams own racing shops. So how much of the COT is produced by the manufacturer and how much is build/created by the team race shop workers?! Hope this makes sense, and thanks alot in advance!!

I believe that all parts are manufactered in house by the race teams. The only part of a "stock car" that even resembles a production car is the front grill and rear bumper sections.

Technicaly the front facia/bumper cover and rear facia/bumper cover are made by the manufactuars althoughthey are not the same as the production versions. All other body panels are now fabricated by the teams.
The cast engine parts ( cylinder block, cylinder heads, intake manifolds ) are designed and sometimes cast by the manufactuars although most of the finish machining is done by specialty manufactuars.

No theres No Real "Stock" in NASCAR but does it really matter???

Something tells me that with the extra large font on your reply your annoyed about something!! With my intial post I never asked whether anything stock was used on the cars and I never complained about that, as I realise nothing stock is used! All I was asking was if the race teams themselves milled/built parts or did manufacture's racing divisons build the parts and the race teams piece them together. I known that teams fabricate alot of the body work themselves, but with certain engine parts, are they milled out by the race teams or do the manufacture's create /design and build speacil race engine parts and then the race teams just bolt them together. That's what I was asking!!!

Not Mad at anybody I,ve increased my font size because I,ve been doing alot more work on my laptop in dark airport gates lately and am developing some eye strain issues ( I really like my home PCs HUGE screen and the great lighting in my office ) sorry if I offend anyone.

Back to the stock issue the manufactuars design ( sometimes with help from NASCAR teams such as RCR, Hendricks and Roush ) and cast the cylinder blocks, cylinder heads and intakes, per NASCAR rules they must have manufactuars parts numbers and be submitted to NASCAR for approval by the manufactuar.Very limited modifacations are allowed to those parts.
Basicly everything else in the engines comes for aftermarket suppliers.

Ceratinly not a problem about the size of the font! What ever works for you! Just with other forums I have talked on people only have seemed to use larger fonts when they are annoyed about something! But whatever works well for you is important. As for the answer to my questions, thanks for the help.
