10 drivers go for the chase. I like Tony, but why #11,,,,then why not #12, 13, and so on to get on the stage. Thought was top 10 drivers. Where did they get this lady that sounds like she should be a curcus announcer,,,be fair to all the drivers. They reallly all get too expensive anyway. The reason I can't take my grandson to a baseball game.

Its for winning 11th and accepting his prize bonus. NASCAR did not do this under the Winston Cup format, because 11th didn't mean anything special, just money. But with the Chase format, the driver who finishes 11th in points gets a million dollar bonus and on stage to New York. NASCAR did this basically for the people who was out of the Chase, so they had something to contend for atleast. And NASCAR has awarded the 11th place driver since the Chase began. Under the Winston Cup format, I would think the way you are thinking, but under the current format, I think the 11th place winner deserves a trip to New York. My opinion.

That was the worse voice I think I have heard. Was she for real?????????
All three years the 11th place driver has been honored.

What did you think of the Championship Awards Show?
So what did you think of the Championship Awards show? I thought that that might be a good thread for us Nascar Addicts to talk about. So I figured that I would start a thread for us. Unfortunatally I do not have the time to post my opinion right now, but I will! So if anyone has an opinion, good, bad or indifferent, let's hear it!!

I had to work and still haven't had the chance to watch the tape yet. My hubby was nice enough to tape it for me. But I think he forgot to put it on long play and the whole last half didn't get taped. boohoo.

Jay Mohr again? Gosh, can't they find another comedian with better jokes? Sorry, Id didn't get a chance to see it, so I can't really say my opinion for sure.
I only have a minute, so will answer you Pack Rat and give more of my opinions later. I will sure agree with you on the host, Jay Mohr. You know I had just read somewhere that on the "Tonight Show" they use to call it "crickets" when a joke was told and there was dead silence. During the opening of the show, I was kinda distracted, but I do remember saying to myself, "Oh, that is the crickets!" Jay Mohr can be funny, and he can bomb out too, in my opinion. I wish they would get someone more "fan friendly". Will Ferrell would be awesome and funny as all get out! I would even prefer an actor from any of the race movies. How many races you figure Jay Mohrs been to? He seemed so out of touch with the subject matter, like he does every year. Certainly there must be a celebrity race fan comedian/actor out there that could do better. JMHO
