Getting Loose.

After watching a number of condensed races from last season on NASCAR.com, I heard the annoncers say a driver made the guy in front of him 'get loose'. I thought a car being loose or tight was a technical thing and not something another driver could affect? How would it be possible for one driver to make another driver loose?! Any help is much appreciated!

MIKE HONCHO will become famous soon enough
one driver gets so close to the car in front of him it takes the air off of the rear spoiler of the car in front so he has no grip with the rear tires which in turn makes the car in front "loose".But now with the rear wings on the new cars instead of spoilers I think we will see less of that.

Hey PBamber16!

Honcho gave you a pretty good discription of how one car can make anothe one loose. I thought that maybe you would also get some better understanding of the terms used in Nascar from this thread:

http://www.nascarspace.com/nascar/na...ssary-188.html

I have used it numerous times and thought you could appreciate it.

Talking Any time PBamber!

No problem PBamber. We are so happy to have our international members! You are at a disadvantage, as you can't watch the whole races, pre-race and special shows that we see on the television here. So please don't ever hesitate to ask a question. It is so cool that you want to learn more about the sport we all love so much.

Personally, I love that we are getting more and more international members who feel at home in the community here. I feel that is indicative of how our racing is becoming a world class sport and a reflection of the international open wheel drivers that are coming into Nascar!

It is a shame that we can't watch whole races, but the 'Race Rewind' and 'Post Race Show' they have on NASCAR.com are always enjoyable to watch and you still get a good feel for how that race went. SI.com also has some very enjoyable and informative articles throughout the year; so it's not all bad!!
