new NASCAR vs. old NASCAR

I was just watching the speed channel and I saw NASCAR on and I realized just how pointless it is. When they started there was a rule that they had to produce 500 of them before the could be used as a NASCAR, now I don't see any cars on the street that look like the ones they use, they just have the same name. So they change the body completely from the original car to make it more aerodynamic but if they are already going to make it so you cant tell what it is why not just make it way more aerodynamic and change it even more. The very dumbest thing is that they put carbs on the engines instead of fuel injection. First of all no car that they use still uses a carb and if they want to make the cars go faster they shouldn't be using a carb so it does not make sense. Just wondering what everybody else thought about it and how it should be.

just like comparing old tour de france with new tour de france... times have changed... like the song it is a different world... we always try to compare old to new which is better... the point is we cannot compare them... too different... old days you buy a car off the lot and paint a number on it and you are a racer good to go... not that way anymore... ok...tour de france is not a great example he he , but the same applies to all modern sports... football, baseball... basketball too many technological developments have changed everything ... we have what we have....what does the next generation offer?

Its not really NASCAR that has changed if you look under the sheetmetal of todays NEXTEL/Sprint Cup car they are very similar to the Winston Cup cars of the 70s albeit considerably safer ( your not against Safety improvements are you? ) Its the cars we drive everyday that have changed for economy/efficency/emission reasons.
If you want to watch Close/Side by Side/Everyones competitive Racing leave NASCAR on the tube, their doing it Right!
