Braun Racing officials have announced the signing of Hooters Pro Cup and ARCA driver James Buescher to share its No. 32 Nationwide Series Toyota this season.
Buescher is scheduled to make his NASCAR debut with the team April 11 at Phoenix International Raceway. Buescher, a native of Plano, Texas, recently turned 18, meeting NASCAR’s minimum age requirements in its national series.
Buescher became the youngest winner in ARCA history when he won at USA International Speedway last year. He posted six top-10 finishes in seven ARCA starts in 2007.
Buescher also finished 10th in the Hooters Pro Cup standings last year, with two top-five and five top-10 finishes.
He joins Sprint Cup veterans Brian Vickers, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch as drivers of Braun’s No. 32.
Buescher will compete in six Nationwide races: Phoenix, Kentucky, Milwaukee, Gateway, Indianapolis and Memphis.
“I’m really excited about this opportunity with Braun Racing,” Buescher said in a news release. “This is what you work for as a driver, and I feel very fortunate to have this chance with such a great organization. There is no doubt that Braun Racing has some of the best equipment in the garage area, and I’m planning on keeping this No. 32 just as competitive as it always is.”
