I,m very curious to see how NASCAR handles this? Both cars passed pre race tech and post race tech and where completely legal, the chassis dyno testing that NASCAR does is voluntary ( well kinda they say what cars they want to test and the teams are Expected to Agree LOL) and supposedly any information gained is for FUTURE RULES MAKING ONLY not to be used for issueing penalties. We all know that NASCAR doesent like it when people try and mess with them though, especially because its obvious this was a preplanned occurance and pieces where specificly built to circumvent NASCARs testing. I wont be surprised to see severe repurcussions from both NASCAR and Gibbs management.
Makes you wonder if these magnets where in place for the last test also???

Apparently the Gibbs family has now started taking managerial advice from Micheal Waltrip. The thought that the upper management at Gibbs knew nothing about this is laughable. They cheated, they got caught, and now they will fire some lower level drone for it. Really classy there coach. Maybe there wouldn't be as much of a backlash against Toyota's involvement in the sport if their teams wouldn't get caught cheating so blatently. We aren't talking about grey areas of the the rule book, illegal fuel, attempting to copy a part stolen from another team, rigging a dyno test, these are serious infractions. Knowing that Gibbs racing would try and pull this off in the Nationwide series, is there anyone on here not wondering if they haven't also been doing something illegal in Cup?

I know like they didn't know. I have taken tons of backlash for HMS in the cheating area, so I am glad it is someone else lol
I wonder the same Fireball!

I think engineering your way around the "grey areas' of the rule book is not the same as cheating. When Knaus rigged up the rear window bracing to improve aero on the 48, whether you like him or not, you had to admit that was a pretty cool idea. What I'm loving right now are all of the Nascar anti-Toyota conspiracy theories that are popping up. Some idiot called into Sirius radio last night claiming that either Nascar placed the magnets on the cars or one of the Gibbs crew guys did it before the race because he was mad that they didn't let Busch drive. We will see how serious Nascar is taking this by how thorough they tear the two offending cars apart. They were trying to hide something, I just hope that Nascar is interested in finding out what it is.

Didn't they pass prerace inspection? Why would they have them on during the race? And if Gibbs tries that stupid theory I will laugh.
Yikes, is this something that they were warned about. Did they know they would be dyno'd? Is is something that would be noticed in a regular inspection?
