What feelings come to mind when you think of Indianapolis Motor Speedway?

“Indy is a pretty special place for me. It just has a lot of history, and over the years I’ve competed there in so many different cars that I always look forward to coming back and getting a shot at going to Victory Lane. It would definitely be one of the top accomplishments of my career.”
You’ve had some success on the track over the last month with four consecutive top-20 finishes. Can you continue the streak through Indy?

“I’m pretty psyched about our chances this weekend. We came here and tested and both cars ran pretty well. I think we ended up third fastest in testing. We kind of put all our eggs in one basket with the car we chose and hopefully our gamble will payoff for Menards, Johns Manville and all of our other sponsors.”

· Welcome Aboard – This weekend’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard will mark the first appearance in 2006 for Johns Manville as the co-primary sponsor of the No. 7 Menards Chevy. · Chassis – Chassis No. 107 will act as the primary this weekend. Chassis No. 107 also was the primary car during Gordon’s top-five run in Richmond until contact with the wall foiled a great finish. Chassis No. 110 will serve as the back up.


· Points Position – Following the fourth straight top-20 finish, Gordon and the No. 7 Menards/Johns Manville Chevy were able to once again close the distance to the top 20 in points. Moving up one position from last week to 27th in Nextel Cup standings, a mere 68 points from 25th and 202 points from 20th, Gordon and the team hope to inch closer to their goal of a top-20 season at the famed 2.5-mile oval.


· No Stranger – Robby Gordon, arguably one of the most versatile drivers on the Nextel Cup circuit today, has raced in six NASCAR Nextel Cup races as well as competed in 10 running’s of the famed Indy 500 at the Mecca of American motor racing, Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Robby always makes me nervous, just with all his bad luck and all. He did finish 6th the year Harvick won and he is good on flatter tracks. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
