Wink Noting Newman - May 21, 2007

-- The Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway will be Ryan Newman’s 200th start in the NASCAR Cup Series. Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger, will make his 13th Cup Series start at the Concord, N.C., track.

-- Newman has an average start of 4.5 and an average finish of 20.08. He has 10 top-five starts at the track, including five Bud Pole Awards. Newman earned his first Bud Pole at Charlotte in 2001. His other two starts have been from the 18th and 15th positions.

-- Newman has five top-10 finishes at LMS, including three top-fives.

-- In 10 previous races, Newman has led a total of 222 laps in six events. He has completed 3,488 laps of a possible 4,282, giving him an 81.5 percent completion rate.

-- Newman is going for his fourth-consecutive top-10 finish this Sunday. The last time Newman had four straight finishes in the top-10 was in early 2005 at Darlington, Richmond, Charlotte and Dover.

-- Chassis PRS-071 is the primary car for Coca-Cola 600 weekend. This car was last run at Texas in April; it has been used at all of the intermediate tracks this year. In Las Vegas, Newman earned his first top-10 finish of the year. In Atlanta, Newman earned his 38th pole of his Cup Series career.

-- Chassis PRS-053 is the backup car. This is the car Newman drove in the All-Star race where he started and finished eighth.

Ryan Newman On Lowe's Motor Speedway: "We’ve been running really well the last few weeks and it’s showed at the end of the race. We’re bringing a good car with us to Charlotte this weekend. We’ve improved our finishes each of the last three weeks and it’s just a matter of time before we get this Alltel Dodge back into Victory Lane. We’d really like to do that this weekend in front of all of our family and friends.”

Talking Noting Newman - May 29, 2007

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Avenger, will make his 11th Cup start at Dover International Speedway. It will be his 201st career start in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 6.2 and an average finish of 9.0. All but one of Newman’s 10 starts have been from the top five. His first Cup career start at Dover in 2002 was in the 38th position. Newman has earned three Bud Poles at the Dover, Del., track.

-- Newman has seven top-10 finishes at Dover, including three trips to victory lane. Newman’s first win at Dover came in June 2003, the same weekend he earned his first pole at the track.

-- In 10 previous races, Newman has led 672 laps in seven events. He has completed 3,975 laps of a possible 4,002, giving him a 99.3 percent completion rate.

-- Newman has been running at the end of every Cup race in which he has competed at Dover. In only two of those events, Newman did not finish the race on the lead lap.

-- Dover International Speedway is the only track where Newman has earned three victories in his eight-year career. Along with his Cup Series success, Newman has also earned two Busch Pole Awards and one Busch victory at the 1-mile track.

-- Newman is one of five teams featured on DirecTV's NASCAR HotPass this weekend at Dover.

-- PRS-071: This car was last run at Texas in April; it has been used at all of the intermediate tracks this year. In Las Vegas, Newman earned his first top-10 finish of the year. In Atlanta, Newman earned the 38th pole of his Cup Series career.

-- PRS-053: This is the car Newman drove in the all-star race. It started and finished in the eighth position.

Newman On Dover: "I like racing at Dover and this team has had a lot of success at the track. I’m not worried about the problems we had at Charlotte last week continuing in Dover. Every team has bad races; something happened that was out of our control. We’ll move on and go to Dover knowing that we have a car and a team that are capable of winning this race.”

Cool Noting Newman - June 5, 2007

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger, will make his 11th Cup start at Pocono Raceway. It will be his 202nd career start in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 10.4 and an average finish of 15.4. Newman has earned one Bud Pole Award at Pocono -- July 2003. He has only one start outside the top 20 -- a 30th in August 2004. Newman has five in the top 10, including four in the top five.

-- Newman has four top-five finishes at Pocono, including a victory in July 2003 that occurred after he had won the pole. Three of Newman’s other six starts have ended in top-20 finishes with only three being 30th or lower.

-- Newman has led 140 laps in seven events, including 88 laps during his 2003 victory run. He has completed 1,929 laps of a possible 1,979, giving him a 97.5 percent completion rate.

-- Crew chief Mike Nelson and the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger team will take chassis PRS-104 to Pocono as the primary car. This car last ran during the California race in February when Newman started 19th and finished 12th.

-- The back-up car is PRS-097. This chassis has been tested at Kentucky and Nashville this year, but has not been raced.

Newman's Thoughts On Pocono: “We had a really strong run earlier this week at Dover and we came so close to getting a win, but we just didn’t have as fast a car as Martin [Truex Jr.] did. I’m very happy with the way this team is running and it’s just a matter of time before it’s our turn to be in Victory Lane again. The guys in the shop and at the track are working so hard and they’ve been giving me really great cars. The pit crew did an awesome job last week in Dover and I’m really looking forward to racing at Pocono and getting this Alltel Dodge back into Victory Lane.”

Wink Noting Newman - June 11, 2007

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger, will make his 12th Cup start at Michigan International Speedway. It will be his 203rd career start in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 9.5 and an average finish of 14.8. Newman has earned one Bud Pole at MIS -- June 19, 2005. Newman has only three starts outside the top 10; two 12th-place starts and a 42nd, which occurred during this race last year when he spun during his qualifying lap. Of his eight top-10 starts, five of them have been from the top five.

-- Newman has four top-five finishes at MIS, including two consecutive victories -- August 2003 and June 2004. Four of Newman’s other finishes have been inside the top 15.

-- Newman has led 91 laps in seven events. He has completed 1,965 laps of a possible 2,129, giving him a 92.3 percent completion rate.

-- Newman and the Alltel team will use chassis PRS-071 this weekend. It was last used at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the Coca-Cola 600. Newman won his first of three consecutive Bud Pole Awards with this car, but an engine failure eliminated him from the race. This chassis also ran in Texas, Las Vegas and Atlanta. The backup car is chassis PRS-053. It was tested at LMS in May, but has not been used in a race.

Newman On Michigan: “Michigan is my favorite track to race at. You can have really good side-by-side racing there and it’s a fast track. I’m excited to get to Michigan. We’ve been running so well and this is my home track. I have a lot of great memories here. We are so close to getting our next win and it would be awesome to get that win at Michigan. We’ve done it here before and this Alltel Dodge team has been working so hard and given me really fast race cars. I think we’re definitely capable of winning this weekend.”

Wink Noting Newman - June 18, 2007

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Avenger, will make his sixth Cup start at Infineon Raceway. It will be his 204th career start in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 13.4 and an average finish of 7.8. He has started each of his five races from the 22nd position or higher, but he has only one top-10 start at Sonoma—a fourth in last year’s race.

-- Newman has four top-10 finishes at Infineon—his lowest was 14th in 2004—and two top-fives, including a career-best second in last year’s event.

-- Newman has led 11 laps, all in 2006. He has completed 100 percent of the laps possible at Sonoma—550 out of 550 — since he made his debut at the road course in 2002.

-- Newman received the Mobil 1 Command Performance of the Race award for his second-place finish at Pocono Raceway on June 10.

-- This weekend, Newman and the Alltel team will use chassis PRS-517. It is a new COT car that Newman tested at Virginia International Raceway on June 13. It has not been on any other track. The backup car is PRS-511. This COT car ran at Martinsville in April. Newman qualified 24th after spinning during his second qualifying lap and avoiding the wall. He finished 14th in the race.

Newman On Sonoma: “I like driving the road courses; it’s a nice change of pace. I’ve had some success at both Infineon and Watkins Glen, so I always look forward to driving at those two tracks.”

“We had a little bit of a setback at Michigan. There was nothing we could’ve done differently. We had a good car, we just ran into some bad luck. We’ve got a really good COT program, so we’ll head out to Sonoma and try to get back some of the momentum we lost this weekend.”

Cool Noting Newman - July 2, 2007

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger, will make his 12th Cup start at Daytona International

Speedway. It will be his 206th career start in the Cup Series.
-- Newman has an average start of 22.6 and an average finish of 20.7. Newman has only one start from inside the top 10—a ninth in the 2005 Daytona 500.

-- Newman has two top-10 finishes at Daytona, including a career-best third-place finish in the 2006 Daytona 500. He has four other finishes inside the top 20.

-- Newman has led 27 laps in four races at Daytona. He has completed 93 percent of the laps possible at DIS—1,782 of 1,917—since he made his Cup debut at the track in 2002.

-- The chassis the Alltel team is taking to Daytona as its primary car is PRS-099. This was the car Newman drove in this year's Daytona 500. The car was running in the top three when a crack in the radiator eliminated Newman from the race. The backup car is PRS-065. It was Newman's primary car in this year's Bud Shootout.

Newman On Daytona: "We had a great race going in the 500 back in February and had a top-three car, but we just had problems that took us out of the race. We’ve had really good cars at the superspeedways the last few races. I’m looking forward to driving the old cars at Daytona for the last time. I know the Alltel Dodge team will give me another fast car and hopefully, we’ll have a little better luck this time around and be able to get another top-five finish at Daytona.”

Wink Noting Newman - Aug. 6, 2007

NNCS

-- The Centurion Boats at Watkins Glen International will be Ryan Newman¿s second NASCAR Cup race in the No. 12 Kodak Dodge Avenger. This will be Newman¿s sixth start at the New York road course and his 210th in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 7.6 and an average finish of 15 at Watkins Glen.

-- Newman has led three races for a total of 19 laps. He has completed 451 laps of a possible 452 for a 99.8 percent completion rate since he first raced at The Glen in 2002.

-- The No. 12 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger pit crew won its second Checker's/Rally's Double-Drive Thru Challenge for spending the least amount of time on pit road at Pocono.

-- Last weekend, in Pocono Lake, Pa., Krissie Newman and friends helped raise money for the Ryan Newman Foundation by waiting tables at Moyer's Country Kitchen. Owners Donnie and Jeri Moyer friends of the Newmans "hired" Krissie and Michelle Croom, executive assistant for RNF, to work at their new restaurant that opened on July 7. The RNF raised $600 from the women's tips, which was matched by Krissie's parents, Jim and JoAnn Boyle.

-- Crew chief Mike Nelson and the Kodak crew are taking PRS-517 to Watkins Glen. This is the same car Newman used at Infineon Raceway in June. PRS-511 is the backup car. It also served in that role at Infineon. It was tested at Virginia International Raceway and Kershaw, S.C., earlier this year.

Newman's Remarks On Watkins Glen: We had a good run at Infineon, but our fuel strategy didn't pay off like we thought it would. I like racing at Watkins Glen...we're taking the same car that we had at Infineon and I think we¿ll have a good shot at winning this Sunday.

NBS

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Kodak Dodge Charger, will make his third Busch Series start at Watkins Glen International and his 35th in the series.

-- Newman has started both of his races at Watkins Glen from the top five. His average start is 4.5 and his average finish is 21. Newman won at The Glen in 2005, but finished 41st last year after a fiery incident on lap 29.

-- Newman has led nine laps in the two events. He has completed 111 laps of a possible 165, giving him a 67.3 percent completion rate.

-- Neither the primary car nor the backup car going to Watkins Glen for the Zippo 200 has been on a track this year. The primary car is PBC-005 and the backup car is PBC-009.

Newman on Watkins Glen: I like driving the road courses and I think Watkins Glen is a better road course to race at than Infineon. There's more opportunity to pass and I think the racing is a little more competitive. I'm looking forward to getting back to The Glen. Last year, we had a freak accident that caused the engine to basically explode, but we won there two years ago and we're looking to do that again.

Cool Noting Newman - Aug. 14, 2007

-- Last year, Ryan Newman and Tony Stewart shared big fish stories with more than 300 fishermen at the inaugural Ryan Newman Foundation Celebrity Charity Fishing Tournament sponsored by Ranger Boats at Blythe Landing in Huntersville, N.C., on Dec. 16, 2006. The charity bass tournament raised more than $40,000 for the Ryan Newman Foundation Endowment, which will be a source for grants to non-profit organizations that fulfill the Foundation's mission.

Newman fished Lake Norman with FLW Angler of the Year Anthony Gagliardi in his Alltel-wrapped Ranger Boat. Newman and Stewart were joined on the FLW Outdoors stage by Ranger Boats Founder Forrest Wood during the awards ceremony, sponsored by Alltel. Fisherman Brian Morgan and Michael Fox of Newton, N.C., won the grand prize, a 519VX Ranger Boat with a VZ200TLR HPDI Yamaha motor, valued at $35,000.

This year, the fishing tournament will be Dec. 8, 2007. Tournament registration and the VIP reception and auction will be on the evening of Friday, Dec. 7, 2007. For further details about the fishing tournament, please visit www.ryannewmanfoundation.org.

-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger, will make his 13th Cup start at Michigan International Speedway. It will be his 211th career start in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 9.1 and an average finish of 16.7. Only one of Newman¿s starts has been lower than 12th a 42nd in June 2006 after Newman spun in turn three before completing his first lap. Two starts were from 12th and the remaining 10 have all been from the top 10.

-- Newman has four finishes in the top five, including two wins. He has four other finishes inside the top 15 and four of 25th or lower.

-- Newman has led 91 laps in seven races at MIS. He has completed 2,161 laps of a possible 2,329. Newman has a completion rate of 92.8 percent at the Brooklyn, Mich., track since he made his debut at the speedway.

-- Crew chief Mike Nelson and the Alltel team will take chassis PRS-108 to Michigan as its primary car. This car is the same one Newman drove in Chicago in July when he qualified third and finished eighth. Chassis PRS-110 is the backup. This car was tested in Kentucky earlier this year, but it has not been raced. It is a new car.

Ryan On Michigan: I always like racing at Michigan. I've always said that this is my home track, so being there is like going home to race in front of my hometown crowd.

We're in the hunt for the Chase and each week it feels like we're getting closer and closer to moving into that 12th spot. We've only got four more races left, so this whole team is working extremely hard to do our best and make it into the Chase this year. I think we have a really good chance of doing that and being in contention for a championship run.

Wink Noting Newman - Aug. 22, 2007

NNCS
-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Avenger, will make his 12th Cup start at Bristol Motor Speedway. It will be his 212th career start in the Cup Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 8.7 and an average finish of 21.4. Newman has two Bud Pole Awards at Bristol along with six other top-10 starts. Newman's lowest starting position occurred this spring when he qualified 22nd.

-- Newman has five top-10 finishes at BMS. He has one 22nd-place finish and five of 30th or lower.

-- Newman has led 55 laps in two races at Bristol. He has completed 5,063 laps of a possible 5,504. Newman has a completion rate of 92 percent at the World's Fastest Half Mile in Bristol, Tenn.

-- The primary car for Bristol is chassis PRS-511. It was last used at Martinsville in April when Newman qualified 24th and finished 14th. The backup car is PRS-515. It's the car Newman drove to the pole and then a second-place finish at Dover in June. It was first used at Darlington in May when Newman qualified 29th and finished fourth.

Newman On Bristol: Bristol is always a fun track to race at. You never know what is going to happen there...you can get really lucky and miss all the accidents or you can get caught up in one that ruins your whole day, especially if you have a really good car. We were unable to miss an accident during the spring race and it took a really good car out of the race, but that's the way it goes in Bristol. It's such a crowded track with 43 cars on it that you just never know what's going to happen. I like racing at Bristol and I'm looking forward to running both races there this weekend.

NBS
-- Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger, will make his sixth NASCAR Busch Series start at Bristol Motor Speedway. It will be his 36th career start in the Busch Series.

-- Newman has an average start of 4.8 and an average finish of 5.0 at Bristol. Newman earned his first Busch Pole Award last year at this same race. His lowest start at BMS has been 15th. His other three starts include two from third place and one from second.

-- Newman has never finished a Busch race outside of the top 10 at BMS. He earned his only win at Bristol in the Food City 250 in 2005. His only other finish in the top five was a fourth in the spring race earlier this year. Newman's other finishes include an eighth and two sixths.

-- Newman has led 236 laps in three races at Bristol. He has completed every lap possible at the Tennessee track -- 1,302 of 1,302 -- giving him a 100 percent completion rate since he first competed at the track.

-- Newman's primary car for the Food City 250 is PBC-008, which was raced in 2006 by Kurt Busch, but hasn't been used in 2007, Last year, it finished second at Charlotte, sixth at Chicago and third at Dover. It was crashed at the Richmond test earlier this year and recently rebuilt. The backup car is PBC-017, a new car that hasn't been raced or tested.

Newman On Bristol: I enjoy running the Busch races at Bristol. It's going to be very interesting to see what the new surface is like in race conditions. We came up here a couple months ago to test the Busch car, but rain kept us from spending a lot of time here, so I don't think anyone really got a great feel for what the track is going to be like. I'm excited to get up there and be one of the first drivers to race on the new surface. I don't know what's going to happen with 43 cars on the track, but I think it will definitely be interesting.
